25.01.2022 Friday February 14th Bookings Essential! 0498 729 144 or 6491 1881
24.01.2022 We're heading out canyoning this Wednesday for the first time since March! And there are two spots available. It is going to be a fantastic day out in Machinery... Canyon with two guides and a max of four clients. The tour costs $275 per person and that includes lunch and photos of the trip. I wouldn't say it is going to be tropical in there, but we will certainly be rugging up, and with a small group we will keep things moving. Machinery Canyon is at a lower altitude to our other trips and extra fun this time of year with a bit of extra juice in the creek. We will be abseiling down six waterfalls. You will definitely get wet, but you can stay out of the drink most of the time. You can book online or give us a call on 1300032384. Get in quick, as there are only two spots available.

20.01.2022 TASMANIAN ISOLATION Quarantine for interstate arrivals will apply for any visitors arriving or Tasmanians returning home after Friday. Exceptions will apply for "essential" travel.
20.01.2022 PWS is calling on Tasmanians to support the national effort to limit the spread of COVID-19 and stay home. To stop any non-essential travel during this time, al...l national parks and reserves will close from midnight on 26 March 2020. No day or overnight walks, mountain biking, fishing or other activity will be permitted until further notice. This follows the closure of PWS campgrounds to locals and visitors. Lets all work together to reduce the spread of COVID-19. We know this is disappointing to those who enjoy our beautiful parks and reserves and we promise to keep you up-to-date with the latest news on our Facebook page and website www.parks.tas.gov.au.
20.01.2022 Although were devastated by the need to cancel traditional ANZAC Day commemorations this year, weve been encouraged by the alternatives many of our community ...here on Facebook have shared. Were pleased that ANZAC Day has such a special place in the hearts of all Australians! Theres one suggestion that we think could be a really special way of showing our ANZAC spirit in these uncertain times. At 6am on ANZAC Day, lets gather separate but united at the end of our driveways (or on our balconies) and observe a minutes silence as the sun rises. RSL Tasmania calls on Australians to show their ANZAC spirit and honour the service of our Defence forces, past and present, by standing at the end of their driveways for a minutes silence this ANZAC Day.
20.01.2022 COVID-safe behaviours protect lives. Reduce the risk by staying at home if you are unwell, and, always covering coughs and sneezes. Illness spreads when peopl...e who are sick dont stay at home. Some tips to remember when you are sick: Stay at home. Dont attend work or school. If you need something ask a family member or friend to pick it up for you this could be food shopping, pharmacy items or a book to read whilst recovering at home. Cough and/or sneeze into a tissue or your elbow and throw away used tissues straight away. Dont forget to wash your hands afterwards. If you need medical advice or assistance call your GP or the Tasmanian Public Health Hotline. Call Triple Zero (000) if it is an emergency. Its important to do the right thing when you are unwell. The community is counting on it. Visit: www.coronavirus.tas.gov.au/COVID-safe

15.01.2022 Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update Effective immediately, the Tasmanian Government has introduced additional travel restrictions Spirit of Tasmania passengers. The o...nly passengers who will be permitted to travel on board Spirit of Tasmania are those who meet the following criteria: Tasmanian residents returning to Tasmania; Essential Travellers to Tasmania; Freight operators; and Non-Tasmanian residents returning to the mainland from Tasmania. Passengers who do not meet the above criteria should not proceed with making a new booking. We will be reviewing all bookings and cancellations will occur if passengers do not meet the above criteria. To assist with the increased demand, we have scheduled two additional day sailings on Tuesday 31 March and Wednesday 1 April 2020 to ensure that Tasmanian residents can return home and that visitors to Tasmania can return back to the mainland. 12.01.2022 Effective immediately, all Hydro Tasmania lakes and boat ramps are closed to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, along with our campgrounds. Its a difficult b...ut simple message: if you were planning on fishing, water skiing, camping, hunting or otherwise visiting Hydro Tasmania lakes or land for the Easter break or beyond, you must stay home. Even if youre travelling alone, there are always risks. Please help us by following the governments advice to stay home and stay safe, so we can all throw a line in when life returns to normal! 12.01.2022 Weather Alert please note The @bureauofmeteorology has issued a weather alert for Victoria and Tasmania. Tasmania will feel the full force of this cold snap ...with strong icy winds, showers, hail and thunder and snow down to very low levels. Snow could possibly fall down to 200m Monday night and during Tuesday across much of the state, snow may even settle on the ground for elevated suburbs in Hobart. Please be aware of the conditions and adjust your plans as may be necessary. Please be alert and stay safe. Please check the PWS Facebook page, website alerts, or feel free to email or call the relevant field or visitor centre www.parks.tas.gov.au/about-us/contact-us/contact-details before heading out to parks and reserves over the next few days. In some places if roads become dangerous, such as the Dove Lake Road at Cradle Mountain, it may be necessary to close roads or sections of parks as a public safety measure. 08.01.2022 Tasmania has now delivered more than 81,000 COVID-19 tests - a huge effort! But we need to keep this up. If you have any symptoms such as a sniffle, fever, cough, sore or scratchy throat or shortness of breath its really important to go and get tested.

06.01.2022 Was a pretty awesome experience and some great weather :D. Good luck to all future trekkers. Also a big shout out to wild island adventure hire. If you need a l...ift call them. They picked me and only me up from the airport took me to Woolworths and to cradle mountain for 75 dollars. Not sure how they made money from this but helped me out massively!!! See more
04.01.2022 I received this from Overland Track Transport yesterday, thought Id share for anyone planning on booking. Basically they can no longer drive to Ronny Creek, b...ut stop at the new visitors centre and hikers need to get the Parks shuttle bus after checking in, getting pass etc. Possibly something to do with the new safety checks/talk from Parks at the centre? 04.01.2022 "Because there is nothing more beautiful than the way the ocean refuses to stop kissing the shoreline, no matter how many times its sent away." ~ Sarah Kay W...e also love breathing the wild air, soaking up the sunshine, whispering to our wildlife, enjoying all the seasons and falling in love with our wilderness. We can hike, sometimes scramble up spectacular granite mountains, just to witness the view over Wineglass Bay from the summit of Mt Amos, you can catch up with one of the darlings of Darlington out for dinner on Maria Island, this time of the year we are all reminded just how magnificent the turning of the fagus is at Cradle Mountain, soon we can all take the kayak out along a stunning stretch of coastline close to Hobart, there will also be a time when we all cant get enough of Cosy Corner and you wont believe our very rare find from this morning - a snow white Superb Fairy-wren. On a very special night Boy the Lady Aurora wowed us over the Huon River at Franklin, when you witness Golden Hour over Tasman Island from The Blade you realise just how beautiful the world is, time stands still as the Milky Way appears high above kunanyi/Mt Wellington, its a pretty special view when you are up close and personal to an archway sculpted over millions of years into the cliffs on the Tasman Peninsula and when you cross the suspension bridge on the way to Montezuma Falls you find yourself in a wonderful rainforest of leatherwood, myrtle, sassafras and giant fern trees. Oh and did we mention we take the Mount McCall track, which is located around 30 minutes south of Queenstown, on the way to Lake Burbury on the West Coast Range. The track is managed by Parks Tasmania and guarded by lock and key! In order to obtain the key, you have to thoroughly clean your vehicle and remove all the mud. Getting the key is a privilege as they only give out three per day! We love to share your Tassie videos, photos and stories with the world You can inbox us or post to our wall. If you are on instagram you can tag either of our accounts via the hashtags #TasmaniaGram or #InstaTasmania If you are a local business, artist, charity or group send us a message about promoting you to Tasmania and the world
