24.01.2022 Here are some photos of our school gardens that helped make our school be in the top ten gardens for the Gardens for Good Competition during the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers. Never underestimate the power of a quiet moment in the garden.

21.01.2022 WHY GOWRIE EARLY YEARS IN 2021 WHY WOULDN’T YOU We have a Prep and Prep/One class for 2021. There is opportunity for further enrolments. This is where the love of learning is developed and the basic building blocks needed for the present and the future are shaped. At Gowrie, all of our Early Years teaching staff are dedicated Early Years specialists with a wide range of skills and knowledge in the Early Years teaching area. Our support staff are highly respected and valued and all have chosen to work in the Early Years space at our school.

21.01.2022 Look, listen, report. We can all help to keep our schools safe. If you see or hear anything suspicious, contact School Watch on 13 17 88 to report the incident, even if it seems minor. In an emergency or if you see a crime in progress dial Triple zero (000).

20.01.2022 Thank you to our school community for all your hard work throughout the school year. It is a privilege to be the principal of Gowrie State School. This year we have learned that we have a choice about how we deal with life’s detours and off road tracks. Everyone of us have worked with hope in our hearts, with courage in our actions and with enthusiasm in our step to make the best of the situation. I think we have been a bit of a trailblazer of a school. Our school is one big giant classroom. Our school community is one strong educator. We have a lot of promise, potential and possibility. Always have. Always will. Go Gowrie.

20.01.2022 Handmade by a Gowrie student (with a little wisdom from family) Once again we are nearing the end of another extremely busy term. I’m uncertain why I keep referring to each term as extremely busy like it is some type of surprise All terms are busy and all years are busy so I’ll need to find an alternative adjective for the future. I need to ask a wise owl.

19.01.2022 Dear community. Happy Easter.

18.01.2022 School neighbours and local community members are encouraged to watch out for suspicious activity and report anything irregular to School Watch on 131 788. If it's an emergency, then call Triple Zero (000).

17.01.2022 A spectacular start to the day with the closed 2020 awards presentation. A tribute to the staff and students. We will cherish the 2020 journey. The students were amazing.

16.01.2022 I hope the end of year experiences are treating you well. It seems to me that time is going a tiny bit too fast and I have lots to do and talk about with our school community so that we can start 2021 with confidence, a sense of positive wellbeing and be inspired to celebrate new beginnings. There is an old adage in real estate, You can’t sell a secret. Taking that adage and applying it to our amazing school, I know that I would not work well in selling real estate because I am too proud to be quiet about Gowrie State School. I cannot keep it a secret. An email will be sent out today to all our 2021 prep families about the start of 2021 school routines around drop off and pick up times and coming on site.

15.01.2022 To our cleaners and grounds officer- our thanks for a clean, well looked after and cared for school environment.

12.01.2022 Our role now is to ensure that our positivity remains to the end of the year and we can all sit back and reflect on a job well done. I’m certain there will still be some adverse hurdles to overcome, and I am just as certain that our collective support through our words and actions will ensure we remain a community that paints a positive life story.

09.01.2022 Positive start to the year. Yes! We look forward to welcoming parents and carers to our school for the start of the school year. Read about our school’s Prep drop-off arrangements arrangements on our website (https://gowriess.eq.edu.au//2021%20alternative%20drop%20of) or contact the office for more information.
