18.01.2022 On Sunday the VGPMRA held its Annual Scrutineering Day at Diamond Creek along with the club’s AGM, some 5 months later than first planned due Covid. Following the AGM the club held a short trophy presentation due to the annual presentation dinner being cancelled earlier in the year. There was an excellent turn-up of members despite the weather gods not being kind to us. We would like to thank everyone who made the effort to attend making a very enjoyable day. Nine cars were ...scrutineered on the day and another 5 were done the week before at Super Balance in Shepparton thanks to our Chief Scrutineer Dennis Myers. Special thanks to Sandra & Ray Shiells & Mark for hosting the day at their place and put on a great lunch that was enjoyed by all. AGM was held prior to lunch with the following members elected:- President:- John Fowler Vice President:- Mark Shiells Secretary:- Sue McLaren Treasurer:- Chris Fowler Committee:- Shawn Ward, Travis Florrimell & Jim Phillips Drivers Rep:- Mark Shiells Public Officer:- John Fowler Chief Scrutineer:- Dennis Myers Tech Committee:- Dennis Myers, Mark Shiells, Travis Florrimell, Shawn Ward & Paul Perry. Infield Officials:- Glenn Cunningham & Daniel Adams. As mention previously we held a shortened Trophy Presentation after the AGM. Due to the short season we only awarded the main points trophies along with best new driver of the season. 14.01.2022 Unfortunately the VGPMRA wishes to inform all drivers and members that our next scheduled race meetings at Wangaratta and Rushworth have been cancelled due to new State of Emergency laws being enforced in Victoria. We have been liaising with our races tracks about what will happen with the rest of our season. At this time we are unable to say but we will keep everyone advised about it. We ask everyone to stay safe and well during this period of the COVID-19 virus.

13.01.2022 Only 1 more sleep until the 2020 Australian Title. Good luck to all our Victorian drivers who are making the trip to Nowra tomorrow night, bring home the bragging rights! On a serious note well done and good luck to the NSW GP Association for their persistence to get this meeting run despite the numerous hurdles that have been put in front of you this year, we hope it all runs smoothly and most importantly everyone has fun.

12.01.2022 The VGPMRA yesterday returned to Laang Speedway for the first time in over 20 years and completed a demonstration. To say that the drivers and crews enjoyed the day is a big understatement. The hospitality from the Laang committee and volunteers was as good as weve had from a track and we look forward to heading back there again in future with a full field of GPs on the clay bullring.

04.01.2022 **AUST GP MIDGET TITLE - POSTPONED TO 11th April 2020** NOMINATIONS EXTENDED TO 13th March. Due to excessive weather (rain), this weekends race event at Nowra has been cancelled. As a result, the 2020 Aust GP Midget Title will now run on our rain out date, being 11th April 2020. This is also Easter Saturday, so a great chance for more nominations with the event now happening on an extra long weekend!! All existing nominations will be held over (unless nominated drivers advise me in writing that they cannot attend) and we will also open Nominations up until next Friday 13th March for any additional drivers that can now participate ($150 Nom Fee will still apply if paid by 13th March with Form lodged).

03.01.2022 Hello everyone. Due to there being no racing, we here at VGPMRA are going to post a few pictures over the next few weeks. Hopefully old & new members will join in, add a few pictures or videos & we can all poke a bit of fun at each other. Anything to start a bit of conversation about our great club & class. 03.01.2022 **IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM NSW** CHANGE OF DATE FOR 2020 AUST GP MIDGET TITLE.... We are very happy to advise that following an agreement between the NSW & VIC GP Midget Clubs, Nowra Speedway Management and our Sponsors, we have moved the date of the 2020 Aust GP Midget Title to the 12th December. A rainout date of 23rd Jan (2021) will apply. This will ensure that all Vic based teams can participate with the NSW/VIC border opening prior. This should see a full compliment o...f 17 GP Midgets competing for the National Title. Nominations will be re-opened for any last-minute nominations, until Friday 27th Nov (no late nomination fee if paid by then). We have attached our revised race calendar for 2020/21 - next weekend’s event at Nowra (14th Nov) will still go ahead however now as Round 3 of the NSW Gulf Western Oil Super Series. Let’s hope that this is the last change forced upon us by matters out of our control. It’s been a truly crazy year so far, we would like to thank everyone for your understanding & bearing with us while we do our best to make decisions in the best interests of everyone involved. Whoever gets the A1 this year is going to deserve it!!!! See more
