(1 John 4) Picture that a letter arrives in your mailbox today. It's from someone named John, but you know many Johns. You open it and read several pages telling you how much God loves you. Then there are reminders that hating people is not love, followed by explanations of how love is recognised in actions. As you turn over the sheets of paper, the writer reveals that you are actually one of God's beloved children. He tells you that you and God can conquer the world. At this point, you put down the letter and look again at the address on the envelope. You are thinking, Is this really for me? Yes. It is.
