07.01.2022 COVID-19 Update 31 December 2020 . [NSW BORDER RESTRICTIONS] Due to the changing situation in New South Wales, new border restrictions will come into effect fro...m midnight tonight. Only South Australians returning from NSW, people permanently relocating to SA, and approved essential travellers (including cross border community members) will be able to travel to SA. They will be required to self-quarantine in an appropriate location for 14 days. A 100km buffer zone arrangement will be in place for cross border communities. All people will need to complete a cross border travel form before they travel to SA. More detailed information on the latest COVID-19 Direction will be available soon. . [NEW CASES] Two new cases today including a man in his 20s who has recently returned from overseas and a woman in her 20s who is a close contact from a previous case. Both cases have been in a medi-hotel since their arrival. Further testing on a previous case from Victoria has confirmed the result represents an old infection and as this case has already been reported in Victoria, it will be removed from our total case numbers. . 04.01.2022 *** IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING FACE MASKS *** Under the new SA Health Direction coming into effect at midnight tonight, all healthcare facilities, including GP practices require: All people (including patients, patient’s family members, healthcare staff, administrative staff, contractors and cleaning staff) are required to wear single use surgical masks when on healthcare sites. Cloth masks are not sufficient for healthcare settings.... There are exceptions to mask wearing in some situations, such as, certain breathing difficulties, mental health conditions, communication with deaf or hard of hearing community members, people under the age of 12. A health care setting includes, GP practices, public and private hospitals and specialist practices, including drug and alcohol facilities, pharmacies, allied health services, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services, dental services.

02.01.2022 COVID-19 Health Alert 19 December 2020 New locations added [High Community Transmission Zones]... The following areas have been identified as High Community Transmission Zones: Cronulla Lane Cove Turramurra Woolloomooloo These areas are in addition to the Northern Beaches Council, Lavender Bay and Penrith. If you have been in these High Community Transmission Zones since 11 December you must: self-quarantine immediately at a suitable location for 14 days. get a COVID-19 test immediately, on day 5 and again on day 12 of the self-quarantine. Some people may be asked to have additional tests. wear a mask when you seek testing and advise testing staff you have visited one of the NSW Health locations of concern. even if you return a negative test result, you must remain in quarantine for the full 14 days. people who live with you and/or travelled with you also need to self-quarantine immediately until they receive further advice from SA Health. call the Communicable Disease Control Branch on 7425 7166 (8am 8pm), even if you have already spoken to an interstate health authority. For detailed information on quarantine and testing requirements visit www.sah...ealth.sa.gov.au/covidcontacttracing EXCLUSIONS The following people are excluded from the High Community Transmission Zone (HCTZ) arrival definition: A person travelling in transit through Sydney Airport for no longer than 2 hours, and wearing a face mask for the entirety of the time they are in transit. An overseas arrival who, having completed 14 days of quarantine, travels directly to Sydney Airport in a vehicle, is physically present at Sydney Airport for no longer than 2 hours, and is wearing a face mask for the entirety of the time they are present at Sydney Airport. People who were transiting through the Northern Beaches Council LGA or the suburbs of Cronulla, Lane Cove, Turramurra, Wolloomooloo, Penrith or Lavender Bay between 11 to 20 December (inclusive) are excluded if they did not get out of the vehicle, or, were travelling through on public transport and were wearing a mask. TESTING People arriving from New South Wales (other than a prohibited location or HCTZ) on or after 12.01 am Thursday 17 December 2020 are not required to isolate while awaiting COVID-19 test results (unless you have symptoms, in which case you must self-isolate).
