17.01.2022 RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS TO RUN THE HIGH SCHOOL WELLBEING WORKSHOP Remember the times when you felt stressed in high school? Wished that someone had shared with... you a few stress management strategies? Passionate about improving high school students’ mental health and wellbeing? Want to try conducting a workshop? The national General Practice Student Network (GPSN) Community Working Group is looking for medical students from all across Australia to conduct our wellbeing workshops for high school students from Years 10 to 12. The High School Wellbeing Workshop (HSWW), which was previously named the High School Stress Seminar, has been re-designed over the past few months. It is an interactive workshop that aims to promote positive and healthy mindsets. We run various activities including a mini-meditation session. HSWW will be run throughout the year and each workshop will take approximately an hour. In volunteering for this program you will be asked to: Conduct a workshop in high school(s) with other medical students in the same city as your university. No previous society experience is needed, and don't let it stop you from applying! You miss 100% of the shots you don't take :)... It's been a pleasure to meet you guys, and hope that GPSN has left a positive mark on your time as medical students! GPSN is a national network for medical students interested in general practice. General Practice Registrars Australia (GPRA) support the network. GPRA support you through your general practice journey from student to GP registrar. Joining the network gives you contacts to medical students all across the country-there’s a GPSN in every medical school in Australia! 04.01.2022 High School Wellbeing Workshop kicked off at Bialik College in Melbourne today! Our team of six, 2 medical students from the University of Melbourne (GPSN UniMe...lb) and 4 from Monash University (GPSN Monash) combined to deliver a fun, interactive workshop to 80 Year 12 students undertaking their VCE this year! This session promoted positive & healthy mindsets and also included meditation sessions. We can all remember feeling incredibly stressed in high school, and this is a great way to give back to our community. Applications are still open for volunteers across Australia!
