04.01.2022 CareFlight was lovely enough to host an information night for a group of interested individuals, including Medical Students from years 1 to 3 and people from the Australian Defence Force. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn first hand about what retrieval medicine is all about and to finish of the night we were privileged enough to get a tour around the CareFlight Hanger and even go out onto the tarmac to watch one of their planes take-off and their helicopter arrive. Thank you so much to CareFlight for hosting such a wonderful night and to NTGPE for sponsoring the door prizes and all the support given to make events like this possible.

03.01.2022 Thank you everyone who attended the CareFlight Hanger Tour last night, it was a fantastic turn out and very encouraging to see so many people interested in retrieval medicine. We had a mixed turn out of medical students ranging from years 1 to 3 as well as members of the Australian Defence Force. After an information session where the group was able to ask questions of the CareFlight staff, the group was taken through to the CareFlight Hanger to get a closer look at where re...trieval medicine is taking place. It was invaluable to step inside these planes so as to really appreciate the confined and congested space from which nurses and doctors are practicing. We finished the night with a bit of excitement on the tarmac watching one of the CareFlight planes take-off and then their one and only helicopter arriving. Thank you so much to everyone at CareFlight for hosting the event and for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us. Also a massive thank you to NTGPE who sponsored three Lucky-Door prizes, each a $50 voucher to Casuarina Square, and for all your support. Finally, thank you to everyone from the GPSNNT committee that helped to organise this event. It was a fantastic night and we hope to do it again next year! ALSO!!!! Keep an eye on this space! We are hoping to organise with CareFlight to be able to have students attend the simulations that CareFlight staff use to practice. This would be a great opportunity to experience the process of retrieval medicine and is also completely unique! Stay Posted!!
