25.01.2022 Since 2012 we’ve awarded 92 medical student scholarship places to students at participating NSW & ACT universities. The scholarships allow students to explore general practice and general practice research. 23.01.2022 What if we could tell in advance how a GP registrar will fare in their exams, so that we could better guide them in their learning? The 'Predictive value of Mock AKT scores on RACGP fellowship exams' project is another great example of the research carried out by our Research & Evaluation Unit. The team has examined the relationship between registrars’ Mock-AKT scores and RACGP AKT and RACGP KFP exam outcomes finding good predictive ability that is informing the way that our medical educators guide registrars in their study. #GPtraining #research Read more at: https://gpsynergy.com.au/annual-reports/

16.01.2022 Our own Dr Marjorie Cross OAM recently presented at a United Nations event! Each year the UN holds the Council for Status of Women. This year it was held virtually and 25,000 people participated. The Australian Federation of Medical Women of which Marjorie is a member, held a parallel event to the council on ‘Australian Medical Women as Advocates for Gender Equity’.

14.01.2022 One of the many research projects showcased in our annual research report is ensuring that our GP training program has workplace-based assessment tools that are valid, reliable and useful in providing feedback to GP registrars. 14.01.2022 RACGP GP20 has changed to an all-digital format to allow delegates to participate in education, celebration and networking opportunities without the need to travel or attend in-person events. The program has been created by GPs for GPs and will analyse the challenges of the pandemic, as well as provide the clinical education and research information suited to GPs at any career stage.

14.01.2022 More than 450,000 consultations have been analysed as part of our flagship research project Registrar Clinical Encounters in Training (ReCEnT), since 2010. It’s the first of its kind to document Australian GP registrars’ educational and clinical experience over time and provides a solid evidence base for GP training. 01.01.2022 The GP Synergy Medical Student Scholarship program is a great opportunity for medical students from participating NSW and ACT universities to explore general practice and general practice research. Successful recipients receive a financial support for their medical studies. In return, they are required to prepare a general practice research project in-conjunction with their university’s academic GP unit (or equivalent) and undertake a general practice community placement. #medicalstudent #GPtraining
