23.01.2022 Busy day yesterday meeting with a new clinic. What was meant to be a quick meet and greet turned out to be a busy day with 3 patients needing ultrasounds! Ultrasound is such a valuable tool in GP vet clinics.

21.01.2022 You're scanning a canine patient with vomiting and diarrhoea and you come across this lesion in the spleen. Are you going to panic? What are your differentials and what is your next step?

10.01.2022 Look at the awesome machines I get to work with everyday! Don't have an ultrasound machine? No stress, I will bring one to scan your patients.

10.01.2022 8 year old male desexed Semi long haired cat presented for PU/PD and the owners had noted large bulges on both sides of the abdomen. Palpably enlarged kidneys on clinical examination. Blood showed marked azotaemia and ultrasound explained exactly why. How would you describe these kidneys & what is the most likely diagnosis? Check comments for the answer! -Tasmiya

09.01.2022 An easy one to start off with. Head to my blog to check out classic ultrasound pics and diagnose this little puppy's condition: https://gpvetultrasound.com.au/?page_id=55

01.01.2022 Who am I? Tasmiya Hussein: I am a small animal veterinarian with over 20 years of experience working in busy 24-hour clinics managing complex medical cases. I have a passion for ultrasonography, have been performing ultrasounds for over 10 years and have a Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Ultrasound (UniMelb) What can I do for your veterinary clinic? I am available to visit your clinic and liaise with you on cases, integrating patient history, clinical examination, blood... results and radiography with my ultrasound scan results. I can perform ultrasound guided fine needle aspirates on all abdominal organs and I can perform A-FAST and T-FAST scans. I will provide you with a comprehensive written report provided same day with discussion with the treating vet at the time of the abdominal ultrasound so treatment can be implemented immediately. I am happy for referring veterinarians to be present for the scans and can give you practical tips on getting the most out of your ultrasound machine.
