24.01.2022 EH interior finally finished being painted. Time to get it off the rotisserie.

24.01.2022 Its taken a while, but this beautiful machine turned back up today after being assembled by its owner. Its back for final fettling before it gets registered. I finished the paint on this Porsche 964 Carrera 2 in 2016. Looks absolutely gorgeous in that Factory Guards Red.

24.01.2022 New project in. Steves VH SLE Commodore in for a full re-finish. Will be done in its original two tone Silver and Burgundy.

23.01.2022 VG SLE Commodore update. First coat of HS surfacer blocked on all panels and body.... back in HS surfacer and ready to block down again.

22.01.2022 EH Update: Subframe finally bolted on. Outer sub frame legs have also been replaced. Still some finishing to go, but nearly there. Next panels will go on for a trail fit before they are repaired and reconditioned.

20.01.2022 Just finished installing a custom Airconditioning system in our Group C VL Commodore. Everything is brand new. It received a Vintage Air GEN IV Magnum system with additional climate control module by Dakota Digital. Additionally: new pump, condenser, receiver dryer and hoses. Good bye to the old vacuum controlled vent system and hello to full electronic modernisation. Should be great for a cruise on a hot day.

20.01.2022 VH update: windscreen wiper cowling is tight and difficult to paint. I decided to do this in colour first so it can be taped off when the engine bay is painted. Came out really well, hard to get the metallic sparkle on a photo. This shade of Burgundy is going to look awesome on the car when its done. Engine bay next

19.01.2022 EH Holden Update: front subframe has now had rust repairs done. An epic affair to say the least, but looking good again. Just the outer sub frame leg end to replace, but will bolt it on to the body first.

18.01.2022 VH SLE body all done. Going back the Steve the owner tomorrow to fit it up and it will be back to fit the hanging panels once it’s back together. Can’t wait to see it competed, the custom burgundy mix is so deep, looks amazing.

17.01.2022 Helped out with a small job yesterday for a competitor in the Baskerville Historics. Broken shift linkage needed a quick welding job to get it back on the track for the day. Lovely car

17.01.2022 Cracking on with Noel’s EH restoration. Time for the boot.... will be quite a bit of work involved to get this panel back to its former glory.

16.01.2022 2nd job on at the moment. Replacing the Roof on Nicks VG Valiant. His car was converted in the 70s. Now it will be returned to its factory state. Donor roof in bare metal today. Will require a number of repairs before I unstitch it from the frame. Making progress @gq_customs #vgvaliant

14.01.2022 Porsche 987 Cayman Project: Started a new project this week. Stuarts 987 Cayman in for its first round of custom installed parts. This project will evolve over time into a subtle outlaw build. First Jobs: Centre bonnet fuel cap install, accented with Porsche gold details: quik-latch bonnet pins: replace rear cayman logo with black Porsche logo. Great start to an interesting project.

11.01.2022 VH SLE UPDATE: Long few days. Engine bays are hard work. All done. 4 coats of colour, three coats of clear.. came out mint.

11.01.2022 Time for an EH update. I am currently re-building the front sub-frame. Tin worms have taken their toll on this piece. Currently finishing up the lower front section. Still have to make the bumper reinforcing buckets and the side reinforcing sections. This piece had to be completely remade. Metal underneath this section is mostly ok but there is some sheet metal that will have to be fabricated before the new lower subframe is welded back in. Work in progress.

10.01.2022 EH update. Interior in primer this morning and in PMG Ashwood Grey this afternoon. Finally some colour on the shell. Next boot in black and dark grey on the dash then it can come off the rotisserie.

10.01.2022 Side project for this week. Been helping Reuben with his BMW K100 cafe racer build. Engine in the booth ready for its satin black paint. Will shoot it this week at some point.

08.01.2022 Well.... after a lengthy stint with sand paper blocking the engine bay, finally got it into primer. Finish is awesome, wont take too much more before I can shoot some colour on it.

08.01.2022 VH Update: 3rd time in HS. A spray down with prepsol lets you see how flat the panels are. Roof and quarters done and looking sweet. Body will be done this week and in its final primer before colour goes on.....

07.01.2022 Floor of the EH has taken an eternity. With all the rust repairs and prep work it has taken a serious amount of time. Inner and outer sills, front and back floors and all the fab work in all the places you cant get a repair section for, Bare metal, Epoxy, HS Primer, 2k black and Raptor protection. Finally finished today and I am really happy with the end result. This car will see the road regularly so the Raptor liner will protect it well from all the road has to throw at it. Finally finished this section . Next the inside and boot area will see colour after cavity protection is completed.

07.01.2022 My shop is only really small. So when you look at buying an expensive price of equipment you really have to be sure is going to be worth it. I have been having issue for some time with static on panels when spraying and getting a lot of dust and lint in my work. Before Christmas I painted the boot on our EH restoration and the amount of dust that accumulated in the job was intense. So bad I had to spend three days re-sanding.... We have all seen it.... the stat gun. Its all over social media. Long story short I decided to purchase one..... 3.5k later I was hoping all the hype was correct. First time I used it today and have to say I am astounded. Painted the dash pieces for the EH in epoxy and then high fill. When I used the stat gun before the first coat you could actually see the dust fall off the parts. Not one spec of dust in any of the work. Its a from me, will be worth every cent. EH boot will be redone in the next few days as well as the grey on the dash. I will report my results. #statgun

06.01.2022 245 Volvo wagon in for a quick sill panel rust repair this week. Outer panel fabricated & TIGed in, and inner panel repaired, rust proofed and painted. Got to love these old girls, absolute gem

06.01.2022 EH Holden update: sub frame below the radiator now finished and in epoxy. Now moving on to the sheet metal repairs for this piece.

05.01.2022 Body on Steves VH SLE fully sanded this week and in HS surfacer ready for yet more sanding to get it nice and flat for paint.

05.01.2022 EH.... boot frame and wheels blasted and in epoxy. Boot frame will need quite a bit of fabrication to bring it back. Most of the outer lip will need replacing. Outer boot skin was hand stripped. This will also need most of the outside edge to be re-fabricated. TIG will get a decent workout. @gq_customs #ehholden

05.01.2022 Busy weekend. VH respray in full swing. Door gaps and panel alignment done, minor panel blemishes fixed. Front doors, bonnet and boot painted in HS surfacer ready for final prep sanding. This old girl is in great nick for its age, cant wait to lay the two tone sliver on burgandy on it.

04.01.2022 Attended the Phillip Island Classic last weekend crewing for Becher Townshend’s 635CSI BMW. What a great weekend, some absolutely gorgeous cars in attendance, had an absolute ball. Thanks Bech for the opportunity

04.01.2022 Some pics of a project that has been going on and off for while on my 1978 Ford Fairmont GXL. I took it to the track last year and had some issues. I redesigned the throttle linkage to run on a bell crank system behind the dash. Also needed to change some electrical systems to be more accessible. The old dash frame was in that bad a shape I decided to fab a new one from aluminium, to look about the same as the original... this is it so far. Main structure is fabricated. Lots of work to go yet to finish it off.

02.01.2022 Recently completed a beaming and torsion test on Geoff’s ICV - Milano Bodied sports car. Completed the test under the watchful engineering eye of Earl Gilchrist, Autotechnica Australia.

01.01.2022 EH inside floors all finished. Front and rear floors replaced on both sides. Welds dressed and finalised, epoxy primer and HS Surfacer applied.
