05.01.2022 So proud to have been part of this success story. Do what we do best - To reach into remote communities to deliver much needed essential products!! It shows that its not just about product for us, but to be part of an added service to our communities. Well done to #ALPA, #Woolworths ! PRIMARY CONNECT HELPS DELIVER ESSENTIAL FOOD ITEMS TO REMOTE COMMUNITIES Following a surge in demand for hunger relief support, Primary Connect has worked closely with Woolworths to help del...iver thousands of donated Basics Boxes to remote Australian communities in need. In March 2020 Woolworths partnered with Australia Post and DHL Supply Chain to launch the Basics Box which contained pantry staples, snacks and other essential items. This bundled grocery offer was developed to service vulnerable customers who were not able to get to a supermarket or access food from a charity agency like Foodbank. Mitch Edwards, Primary Connect Business Development Manager, said Primary Connect helped to coordinate bulk deliveries of Woolworths Basics Boxes to care partners and community groups in Far North Queensland and the Northern Territory. While there were some logistical challenges reaching some of our more remote communities, the Primary Connect team were able to work quickly and make things happen, Mitch said. Located 800km north of Cairns, Aurukun was one of the communities in Far North Queensland that received a delivery of Woolworths Basics Boxes. Aurukun is rated in the highest category of remoteness. With a population of around 1,200 people, its community is also among the most disadvantaged in Australia. With the support of its carrier partners, Mitch said Primary Connect was able to deliver the boxes into Cairns. They were then distributed via G&R Wills on behalf of Arnhem Land Progress Aboriginal Corporation (ALPA).
