14.01.2022 For anyone who is experiencing excess anxiety, stress or is feeling fearful about the current COVID 19 season, here's 2 very simple tips to help you restore your sense of calm and increase your well-being. (1) DIAPHRAGM BREATHING. Sit on a comfortable chair, somewhere quiet. Focus on your body. Close your eyes if you feel okay to do so. Now, take a very deep breath in - BUT THIS IS THE KEY - as you breath in - push your diaphragm out. (Just under your ribcage). It someti...mes helps to put your hand on your diaphragm so you can feel it go out. Once you have taken that big breath in and pushed your diaphragm out - hold that breath for at least 3 long seconds. Breath out slowly. Repeat 3 - 6 times. This method actually lowers blood pressure and reduces your heart rate. A great technique any time you are feeling stressed. :) Tip (2). A great deal of how you feel really does depend on your attitude. It's because your body, thoughts and emotions are all connected and impact each other. If you constantly focus on the problem, then your body and emotions will respond to that focus = feel worse. They feed the problem. However, if you focus on positive things, you will find that your stress and anxiety levels actually do drop significantly. So, for Tip 2, think about what you DO have. Think about things you could do if you're at home - perhaps things you've been putting off. Think about the people that love you and value you. Think about how it is possible to use our intelligence to come up with creative and fun new things to do to keep ourselves productive and helpful. The choice is ours. We can sit down into our anxiety and increase our worries, and feel overwhelmed. OR we can stand up and be intentional about doing things to help ourselves. We will come through this. It is a season we are in, even if things might change for all of us through the process. It will end. People are intelligent, capable, and incredibly adaptive. Cheers everyone. Stay safe. Keep calm. Groups are designed to offer support, encouragement, provide a safe place to be real about your experience, and offer some teaching and techniques that may help. 03.01.2022 LIVING WITH CHRONIC ILLNESS - NEW GROUP STARTING. People living with ongoing illness and pain experience a whole range of associated issues. You might be depressed, anxious, alone, and hopeless. You may struggle with how other people see and treat you. You may have found it hard to find a Doctor that actually has time to listen and care for you properly. You may battle with pain levels and coping every day. This group is designed to offer peer support, and also offer some techniques that may help you in your daily struggle. Sometimes just having people to talk to who understand can make all the difference. The group will run fortnightly and the cost is $30 per meeting. Maximum of 5 people per group. Please get in touch if interested. Hoping to bring a little sunshine into your gloomy day.

Most people don't realise this is the underlying problem, and continue through life feeling unhappy, unheard, undervalued and disrespected, and consequently feel very alone.
