25.01.2022 Yesterday the Year 3 class had fun looking at coding using sphero robots....... Sphero rolls wherever the user directs it on their device. Carefully packed inside the shell is a tiny robot. When commanded to drive in a new direction it is able to rotate to face the right way based on it's position relative to it's user.
25.01.2022 SQUID & FISH today in Science class our Year 7 students dissected Squid and Fish to compare the characteristics of vertebrates and invertebrates.

24.01.2022 Our Cadets enjoyed an outing on the Collie River over the weekend. The sun was shining, the water was cold and the rope swing proved to be a great temptation for some. A great time had by all.

22.01.2022 The Grace Christian School Emergency Services Cadets escaped down to Busselton and Margaret River near the end of term, to go hiking, caving, orienteering and camping. They enjoyed great food, fun and some deep meaningful devotions!

21.01.2022 Last week our Year 9 Girls enjoyed a few days on their Shine Camp which was held at Camp Grace in Busselton. The goals of this camp are to reinforce the girls’ value, purpose and strength as young women and also strengthen relationships between each other and the teaching staff. We hope that these relationships will serve them well in the years ahead as they complete their schooling and mature into confident young women who know their value and hope in Christ.
20.01.2022 Today our Year 11 & 12 Students in their Life Skills class had a visit from Danae from "Happy When Fit", who talked about mental health, fitness and nutrition. The students learnt about nutrition and how this can effect mental health and were shown how to make their own healthy meals. #happywhenfit #mentalhealthweek

17.01.2022 "The longest running chess competition in the history of education?" you ask. Probably. After being initially disrupted by Covid, 98 students finally completed 98 games of chess in a knock out competition to declare the 2020 champions and runner's up for both Primary and Secondary School.
17.01.2022 This year in Year 2N Mathematics Class the students learnt about money by earning money in class as a reward for good work and good behaviour. They could then spend this money in the Class shop. After 6 weeks of this the students were asked to do chores at home to earn money and then use this to buy non-perishable food to put in Food Hampers to be donated to Bunbury Food Bank!
17.01.2022 Operation Christmas Child As you know every year as a school we pack shoe boxes with toys, hygiene items, school supplies and fun gifts for children in need across the world. We had a wonderful response this year, thank you to everyone who donated this year!
16.01.2022 Congratulations to Jordan McIntosh, a Year 11 Student at Grace, for being awarded the Firefighter Youth Achievement Award 2020 at the Fire and Emergency Service Awards last Saturday evening. This is his second award in the past 12 months!
16.01.2022 The "Shedding of the pinafore" Here the students model the new contemporary primary summer uniform, choosing to wear the cooler, more versatile skort in place of the pinafore. After 30 years of the pinny the skorts are quickly becoming the preferred summer wear.

14.01.2022 The Year 9 Boys Strength Camp was held in the Margaret River region last week with the focus being significance, resilience and courage. This is a pivotal time in the lives of the young men with many challenges socially, physiologically and in developing a strong sense of personal value and purpose.
14.01.2022 Mrs Jolly's Year 5 class researched the Australian Gold Rush and then created fictional diaries using factual information from this event. These are now displayed in the Library.
14.01.2022 The Year six classes both participated in the Engineers Australia annual Spaghetti Bridges Competition. They were only allowed to use spaghetti and hot glue. Bridges had to be a certain size and weight and were tested to see which bridge could hold the most weight.

13.01.2022 The Year 11 students completed their examinations last week and Monday was set aside as a transition day from Year 11 into Year 12. A number of teachers spent time talking to the students about healthy habits, study techniques, student welfare and how God fits into everything. A number of past students also came back to share their experiences with our Year 12’s. One of the highlights of the day was when students received their Year 12 Leaver’s jackets as this is almost seen as a rite of passage into Year 12.
12.01.2022 At Grace we aim to facilitate a smooth transition for our Year 6's into Secondary School. Last night, the Year 6 Parents were invited to a Dinner where they could meet the Teachers & fellow parents, and were given all the necessary information on how to support their child in preparation for secondary school.

07.01.2022 Camp Grace is undergoing some renovations just in time for the Christmas school holidays. A new dining hall with bigger kitchen facilities is being built in order to cater for more space and more people. Here are some pictures of the progress thus far.

06.01.2022 CBCA Book Week - Each year, schools and public libraries across Australia spend a week celebrating books and Australian authors and illustrators. They develop activities and run competitions and tell stories relating to a theme to highlight the importance of reading. This year Taleesha Plumley, a Year 4 Student at Grace was awarded 3rd place for her story book "Dad's Lawn". Congratulations Taleesha!

These students were part of SPINRPHEX Group (Students and Practitioners Interested in Rural Practice Health Education) and helped shine a light on different training pathways . 03.01.2022 Today our Grace Year 12 Leavers were visited & given a presentation by Red Frogs. This was all about leavers safety and encourages and empowers students to make positive choices at their Schoolies and leavers week.
03.01.2022 The Year 5's had a visit from Mrs. Carol McDowall from the City of Bunbury. She shared the wonderful relationship the City of Jia Xing has with Bunbury. She interacted with the students sharing stories, doing crafts and the students had fun practicing their Mandarin.

01.01.2022 FANTASY MAPS - The Yr 6N class have been learning how to use different line drawing techniques to create texture, detail and 3-D effects. They used these techniques and create their own fantasy maps.
01.01.2022 Recently the Year 11 & 12 students from Design and Technology class took 3 benches apart, taking off all wooden planks. They proceeded to clean the old frame up before repainting them and placing new wooden planks on them in school colours. They did a great job!
01.01.2022 Last night we hosted the Kindy Dinner for Parents of new Kindy's joining us in 2021. They enjoyed a wonderful dinner getting to know other Parent's and Staff as well as information for the year to come.

01.01.2022 The Year 10's have been enjoying their Outdoor Education Camp at Rottnest over the last couple of days. Night fishing, snorkeling, paddling and water safety were just some of the activities enjoyed, and the weather looks great too!
01.01.2022 The Year 4W have been learning about sustaining our World for the future. What better people to learn from than the traditional indigenous people of the past. They made temporary shelters called Mia Mia's from the materials available to them from the natural environment. These shelters were temporary as they moved from place to place with the seasons to ensure that the natural environment was replenished with plants and animals. Enjoy the children's interpretation of these.
