14.01.2022 Meet Elsie, one of our newest and loved members of Grace City Church! Elsie's favourite thing about church is the community and being with people who also love Jesus! "I love the mutual encouragement from gathering with people who love and worship Jesus. I love seeing different people get involved with serving and building each other up. I love hearing stories of God's work in peoples' lives." If you want to catch up with Elsie, ask her out for BBQ Pork Rice (Char Siu Fan...) from her favourite place- Chatswood BBQ Kitchen! She's not much coffee drinker ("sacrilegious by Sydney standards, I know"). In this past seasons she has been reading Jeremiah and is struck by how fearsome our God is, especially when he is provoked to anger. Her top shows to binge - "I'm currently in between shows. I last streamed The Morning Show and am looking forward to watching Ted Lasso next." We are so excited that Elsie is part of our community!

12.01.2022 "What is good about Good Friday? Why isn't it called Bad Friday? Because out of the appallingly bad came what was inexpressibly good. And the good trumps the bad, because though the bad was temporary, the good is eternal." - Randy Alcorn. Praying you have a blessed Easter Friday today as we meet together and reflect on Jesus. Be encouraged and listen to James's reflection on the elements of communion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRJU5cxJVPc&feature=youtu.be

09.01.2022 "Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him. - John 3:14-15 Watch this week’s message from our Christ Encounters preach series. 08.01.2022 Meet Chris and Kate! We are the Millar’s. We live in Lane Cove North (a short walk from Chatswood). We live with our fur-less baby Wayne who is a 3 year old Sphynx (hairless cat). We have been together for nearly 9 years and married for 5. We love the area and feel as though it is something we share together as neither of us grew up on the North Shore. Slightly controversial but we happen to prefer the restaurants in Lane Cove. Don’t get us wrong we still love eating o...ut in Chatswood. For Chris, a great burger is always a highlight but New Shanghai is probably his favourite. For me (Kate) it’s anything Japanese, of which there are many great places. Another takeaway fav of ours is Fishbowl in Chatswood. For Chris coffee is something of a necessity. With long days and early starts coffee is something of a life source. The best in Chatswood would have to be Salvage. While we are more likely to be at their Artarmon cafe you can still get your fix at their Chatswood location. Another great coffee spot is Story, located in Lane Cove. For us our favourite part of church is most definitely the people. Our life group meets on a Thursday night at ours (all welcome) and now home church (at ours also) on a Sunday morning where our life group and the Davies group come together for a continental breakfast followed by lunch out together afterwards. We have loved home church in this season and love that our home brings people together - even if it’s small. As Chris says we are the busiest introverts! We have been facing a challenging season personally but we both believe that each season brings new growth and the ability to increase your empathy and grace for others (we are so grateful to have our life group journey and pray with us). We also believe he is teaching us patience and that everything happens according to his schedule, this has been difficult this year, but something we are learning to accept with grace. Something dear to our heart is young married couples. Chris and I have faced a lot of adversity in our relationship and hope to help other couples navigate the many challenges that are thrown your way with real honestly and empathy.

07.01.2022 Sit, Walk, Standthey are the key verbs of Paul's letter to the Church in Ephesus. We’re seated with Christ, we walk in love and light, and we stand firm in Christ’s victory. "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes" Eph 6:10-11 James' message from Eph 6 this week on the Armour of God (helmet of salvation & breastplate of righteousness) is available on our podcast.

07.01.2022 We hope you enjoy revelling in the love of the Prodigal Father as Craig preaches from a familiar but wonderful parable today. Stay tuned for a brief word of encouragement from James as we reflect on what God may be rekindling in us at this time. Although we can’t meet in all the ways we’d like, let’s not forget that life wasn’t meant to be done alone so if you’re not in a City Group/House Church yet, please reach out and we’ll help you find one! Keep standing with us in prayer!

04.01.2022 Meet Steph one of our amazing city group leaders. Steph loves being part of the Grace City church family. "It's been about two years now since I've joined Grace City and the one thing that continues to stay constant is the sense of community and family I feel." "I'm so thankful for our city group and super encouraged by each one of them "... The last few months have been challenging, but Steph has continued to lean on God through hard times. 'I'm a social worker and it's a job that at times is exhausting yet God sustains me and gives me even more energy to keep going. This season has been a blessing, a pouring out of the spirit and a surprising refreshment of his love and grace." As a vegetarian her favourite food at Chatswood is "definitely Ozeki's soy bean rice bowl, if you haven't tired it's the best $5 ever spent." If you're sweet tooth, "best ice cream is Gondola and get the chocolate sorbet!"

02.01.2022 Our friends Henry and Rebekah got hitched on the weekend. Congratulations guys!

01.01.2022 Meet Anna When she moved to Sydney, she joined a City group online. Since restrictions have eased, she has met more people 'in-person' and has become valued member of our church family. "I love the community at Grace City! The people were so kind and genuine. Their authenticity, made it easy to become part of the community. This season God has been reminding me of his faithfulness and restoring my hope."... On weekends Anna can be found at the beach or exploring Sydney's cafe culture. "Coffee is an essential in my world and I’m always on the hunt for a good coffee! My favourite coffee shop is Wolfpack Coffee Roasters in Mortlake" A verse which Anna has chosen to encourage the church is Hebrews 11:1 - "Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see."
