If you have a clean appointment coming up, we'll be giving you a call to reschedule your clean for 6 weeks time. Follow us on Facebook for further updates. Thank you for your support in keeping everyone safe. Best wishes, Grace Lim Dental

21.01.2022 To Our Grace Lim Dental Community, We hope you have been keeping well during these unprecedented times. You may have heard the exciting news! Our Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced that level 3 COVID restrictions have been eased for dentists! This means non-emergency dental treatment will return on 27th April. Although some restrictions are still in place, we are delighted that you are able to access more services beyond the emergency treatment we were providing. ... Please be assured that our standards of infection protection are of the highest measures for you, and your safety is our priority. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

20.01.2022 To our Grace Lim Dental Community, We received an update from the Australian Dental Association yesterday advising that only "urgent care" be provided during our Victorian Stage 4 Lockdown. These directives are issued in accordance with emergency powers arising from declared state of emergency pursuant to the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 (Vic). Due to the increasing community transmission of COVID-19 and increasing restrictions on daily practices in Victoria, denta...l clinics have been mandated to limit the care they provide to treatment for dental emergencies and patients requiring urgent dental treatment only. A description of the conditions that qualify are listed below. What is a dental emergency? A dental emergency is a situation that requires immediate treatment. This can include: - Facial swelling - Facial trauma Both facial swelling and trauma have the potential to affect your airway. Immediate treatment should be sought for these conditions. What is urgent dental treatment? Urgent dental treatment involves providing care for conditions that cause significant pain, infection or directly affect your health and wellbeing. This can include: - Severe dental pain, usually affecting sleep - An abscess or infection within the mouth - Tooth fracture where the nerve becomes exposed - Dental trauma from accidents or sports causing teeth to be knocked out or moved from their original place in the mouth - Medically necessary dental treatment prior to medical or surgical procedures that cannot be delayed - Dental conditions that if left untreated may become a dental emergency in 4-6 months. It is important that you do not attend for treatment if you have been in contact with someone diagnosed with COIVD-19 or are experiencing symptoms including cough, fever, sore throat or difficulty in breathing. We ask you to please attend for treatment alone or bring along minimal additional persons. Please be assured if you are attending for treatment, that under the guidance of the Australian Dental Association, Grace Lim Dental has implemented further infection control measures to keep you and us safe. Although the treatments we can provide to you have been restricted for the time being, please know we are here to continue helping you care for your oral health. If you have a dental issue not listed above but are experiencing pain or it is affecting your wellbeing, please contact the practice and we will provide help where possible. Please call us on 03 9830 0090 or send an SMS to 0432 036 312 and a member of the team will look after you as soon as possible.

20.01.2022 Here’s a fun, crafty way to entertain the kids during social isolation!! Happy brushing and flossing!!

18.01.2022 How much sugar is too much sugar? You might think this is a trick question but it isn't. Protecting tooth decay is a balancing act and as part of Dental health Week, here's some important facts about sugar! Did you know that we should consume no more than 6 teaspoons (24 grams) of sugar per day? That seems easy right? But how much sugar is hiding in our trolleys? When Dr Quor had a craving for yogurt, a quick sugar check found that some frozen yogurts had more sugar than ice... cream! Depending on the flavour, some yogurt companies have added more sugar to offset the tartness of the yogurt. It's so easy for the hidden sugars to add up. What can we do to be sugar smart? Have a look at the nutritional information on the side of the packaging. The picture below shows us what to look for. Choose foods with less than 10 grams of sugar per 100 grams. If a product has 15g or less, that's ok, if it has 10g of less that's better, if it has 5g or less you're a champion. Look out for hidden sugars when purchasing foods and drinks. Rinse your mouth with water after having anything sweet. Pro tip, rinse with water after any meal. How do we look after our teeth? Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. Clean between your teeth daily with floss or interdental brushes. (If you've never used an interdental brush before, just ask one of our friendly dentists at your next appointment.) Eat a nutritious diet, low in sugar. Visit Dr Grace, Dr Lakshmi or Dr Quor regularly for check-ups and preventative care so we can help you have healthy teeth.

13.01.2022 To our Grace Lim Dental community, Your health and safety is of the utmost importance to us. Given the unprecedented situation in Australia regarding the COVID-19 virus I felt it was important to reassure you that we are continuing to keep our practice clean and safe for both you and our team. You will appreciate that as a dental practice we work in an environment where the prevention of the spread of a whole range of infections is woven into everything that we do. Neverth...eless, we are paying particular attention to the latest government guidance on the transmission of coronavirus. Before attending the practice for your next appointment please call us if you or someone you have been in contact with have experienced any of the following symptoms: a. a high temperature b. coughing c. shortness of breath or d. sore throat. Please let us know if you or someone you have been in contact with have travelled from overseas in the last 14 days. Just give us a call on 03 9830 0090 or email us on [email protected] to let us know if you wish to reschedule any of your booked appointments. We would be happy to schedule an alternative date for you. You’ll notice that we’ve removed some non-essential items in the reception area including the magazines. They will return once this is all over. As a team, we are doing everything we possibly can to remain fit, well and able to work so that we can continue to provide our usual high standard of dental care for you. Thank you for your support in keeping everyone safe. With best wishes, Grace Lim Dental.

11.01.2022 Covid update: Dear Grace Lim Dental Community, We hope you've been keeping safe and healthy during these unprecedented times. The Australian Dental Association has announced that dental practices should move to Level 3 restrictions as of this Friday 7/8/20. Although restrictions are in place, we are still open to look after you as it is important not to leave dental problems untreated. ... The good news is that even if you live over 5km from the surgery, you are still able to visit us, as medical treatment is one of the four Stage 4 reasons to leave the house. If you have any dental troubles, please don't hesitate to call Dr Grace, Dr Lakshmi or Dr Quor for further advice. We are thinking of you during this time. Keep safe, Grace Lim Dental

04.01.2022 Exciting News! Well done Australia! Following Scott Morrison’s announcement, Australia has now moved down to Level 1 dental practice restrictions on the advice of the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee. The Dental Board of Australia has confirmed that these changes take effect immediately.... We are now able to move forward with all dental treatments!! Things will look slightly different as your safety is of the utmost importance to us. We’d like to reassure you that we’re keeping our practice clean and safe for you. Here are some of the ways we have increased protection. 1. Our team has completed training concerning corona virus and infection management from the Department of Health. We have systems which ensure that our team report if they are exhibiting flu like symptoms before attending work. 2. We will be thoroughly screening all patients before attending their appointment. 3. You will be asked to wash your hands and use an antiseptic mouth rinse on arrival. We request that everyone practise social distancing at all times. There will be reduced number of people at the reception area at any one time. We ask that you come alone if possible. 4. Additional time will be allocated to allow for social distancing. We ask that you arrive on time for your appointment. This is more important than ever to minimise contact between patients. 5. Payment made by card using 'tap and go' is the preferred contactless mode. Thank you for helping us keep the community safe and we look forward to seeing you soon.
