24.01.2022 These two were hitched at the gorgeous Osteria last weekend. The rain came in just after the ceremony so our off -site portrait session was off the cards, but luckily we found HEAPS of cute spots for photos undercover around the venue! 24.01.2022 My five year old actually seems to know how to handle a DSLR. I'm quite impressed. She must have seen me trying to take photos of myself "working" before, because today when I was letting her have a go at the camera she says to me "Go get your laptop and pretend to be working". So this was us having fun today. I'm looking forward to one day giving her my very first camera that I have stashed away!

24.01.2022 I'M NOT COOL. Never have been. In fact I'm sure some people think these photos are incredibly dorky and cringeworthy. You see, I always thought I was supposed to be in front of the camera. Once upon a time I was the ultimate drama geek, in my element performing, but I guess I was more strongly attracted to the production side!... Somewhere along the way I realised that I was in fact making use of my lack of inhibition behind the lens to help people relax in front of it. Imagine an uber cool photographer taking photos of you - do you feel relaxed or self-conscious? A dorky photographer like me makes you the coolest person in the room! At the end of the day, I realise that it's not so much about what career you're doing, but who you're doing it with, and I'm learning that by being my authentic self I'm attracting the kind of people I love to work with! That brings out the best in me, and my best photography work too! So no I'm not cool, but I'm cool with that

19.01.2022 Winter wedding tips | The perfect weather for snuggling! Choose your timing wisely so you can still fit in a golden hour portrait session for the most gorgeous and flattering light. On the Gold Coast the best time for couple portraits during Winter is around 4:30pm. The cold also doesn't necessarily mean you have to wear a jacket - Choose a heated indoor venue for both ceremony and reception and you might be able to get away with bare shoulders for the whole event! Even so, quirky denim or tinsel jackets are a great way to get creative and let your personality show!

18.01.2022 So a really great friend of mine started this kids clothing brand when she had her first child. She resorted to creating her own clothes for Carter because nothing in the shops really had the personality that she felt he deserved to rock! Well fast forward 5 years, two more kids, and a hell of a lot of hard work, JNR NATION has continued to grow exponentially! The brand obviously really resonated with other parents who also wanted something different! Sarah took it to the ne...xt level by taking orders for individualised, custom ordered clothing, with an awesome range of over 80 stand-out luxe fabrics! I could go on all day about how in awe I am of Sarah. How she manages to continue growing JNR NATION and keeping their 3 kids alive is beyond me! The best part about all this for me, is that I have had the absolute honour of being involved with helping her create brand images. 18.01.2022 Love a hard and fast celebration! These two were officially hitched yesterday at the Registry Office in Brisbane. I loved capturing a few urban shots as a contrast to the vast natural landscapes that we're used to on the GC!

17.01.2022 LOVE TO MY TOG SISTERS!! This year I did something for me - probably the most selfish thing I've ever done! I got tired of being a lonely sole trader and decided to finally make a worthy effort to connect with some local Gold Coast Photographer ladies! After leaving my day job to be a sole trader in 2016, I realized how important it is to feel like you're a part of a community, and turns out there were LOTS of others feeling the same way! It makes me so happy to think about the real friendships I've made by putting myself out there and taking a chance!

14.01.2022 This was one of my last weddings for a while, and it's a pretty picture, but shall we share the not so pretty? I don't work in a team like many others. I don't have colleagues to banter with. You guys (my clients and friends), a few other vendors that I love, and of course my family, are my people. So I feel like I need to debrief with you. For me personally (and many, many others will relate) my business has suffered a disheartening blow with many weddings postponed, and wit...h the kids around 24/7 now it's been a challenge finding quiet moments to process these changes! I only hope that financial and mental health strain is the extent of it and we don't have to face severe illness and grieving the loss of our loved ones. I'd love to open up the dialogue and hear how this situation has affected you? Childcare changes, job loss, anxiety, illness, isolation? What's going on in your world? I want to thank all of my clients past and future for trusting in me and fueling my love for this job! We will get through this! I can't wait to see you all on the other side of this!

03.01.2022 Wow!! Saturday induced laughter, tears, big warm hugs, and wild dancing... and that was just me! Mr and Mr Munro brought together the warmest and loosest bunch of people I have ever had the pleasure of joining. There was plenty of whiskey, a legend of a celebrant, 'Celebrant Sue', a hilarious MC, a beautiful groom to groom song serenade, and a fairy tale back story. I can't wait to go through their photos and relive this beautiful day over the coming weeks!
