25.01.2022 Gracenotes students were treated to a fantastic weekend at the PBSA summer school. Thank you to all the tutors, PBSA and everyone who made this weekend possible for making. With the aid of Reid Maxwell the drummers put together a piece of music which they named A salute to the South Australia fire service. How very touching to know that they took the time to consider and honour the firefighters. Please enjoy!

23.01.2022 Good luck to all of our students competing in the Australian Solo Piping Championship tomorrow. Months of hard work have boiled down to this day and were confident that every member will put on a great performance, continuing the improvement weve seen over the past year. If youd like to come and support our learners, or just hear some great bagpiping, please head to Scotch College tomorrow with performances running form 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.



23.01.2022 Were really excited to announce that 413 P&D and the Gracenotes Academy of Piping & Drumming will be holding our first ever Winter Ceilidh on the 22nd of June ...2019. This fantastic evening of piping, drumming, and dancing will showcase how far our talented young pipers and drummers have come over the past 18 months. Tickets are priced at $20 for adults and $10 for children with 100 tickets or 10 tables available. Make sure you secure your tickets to this great event early by dropping us a line at [email protected] or messaging us on Facebook. We look forward to seeing you on the night!

21.01.2022 Its been a busy but exciting time for members of Gracenotes Academy. Recently a number of students and tutors that are part of the 413 Army Cadet Unit Pipes and Drums performed at the Australian Defence Force Cadets Tri-Service Ball at the historic Torrens Parade Ground. They stunned the crowd with their wonderful performance. Well done to everyone involved!



20.01.2022 WOW what a fantastic end to a wonderful Summer School held by Pipe Bands South Australia. A big thank you to all the tutors, PBSA, helpers and of course the learners. The drummers with the aid of Reid Maxwell put together a piece of music to honour all the hard work, dedication and bravery of all the firefighters who worked endlessly to fight the fires. The piece was named A Salute to the South Australian Country Fire Service. Please listen and enjoy

20.01.2022 PBA drum examinations at Gracenotes today (Payneham Returned & Services League - RSL). We wish our students success with their exams! We would like to thank Greg Bassani and Des Phillips for officiating and Monica Vorster for her efforts in helping Gracenotes to initiate this portion of our program.

15.01.2022 Atticus joined the hundreds of other pipers around the country who played Amazing Grace at 11am on Anzac Day. He was one of the pipers that the City of Adelaide Pipe Band had dotted around the city. Although you cant see in this photo there were people in the surrounding cafes (getting takeaways) that really appreciated his playing.

14.01.2022 Congratulations to our tutors and leaners who completed in the Australian Solo Piping Championship today. The day was extremely competitive with a large field of players drawn from Australia and New Zealand vying for the top spot in each grade. We werent able to get any group photos with people running from one contest to another, but were able to grab this great picture of young William just before taking out 2nd in the D Grade Slow Air.... Well done to everyone who competed today. Regardless of result, you continue to show big improvements and set a fantastic example for the young pipers in the state

12.01.2022 Term 2 and we are back and raring to go! Gracenotes are excited to announce that as of Monday 27th April - we will be conducting online tuitions. Can students and parents please check their emails for further details.

11.01.2022 Dont be the one who misses out on Reid Maxwells workshop at the Payneham RSL this Friday 7-8 PM - All Learners (Gracenotes & Grade 2 Band) 8-10 PM - Grade 2 Band Ensemble work and Competition preperation. Learners are welcome to stay and see what he comments on for the Grade 2 Band. Pipers are welcome as he often speaks In terms of Ensemble. But I would only suggest for pipers who have an understanding of how drumming relates to piping.

09.01.2022 Only two more sleeps until the inaugural 413 & Gracenotes Winter Ceilidh, with the evening kicking off at 7:00pm this Saturday. For those who are attending, weve included more information below to help you on the night. Where: The Ceilidh will be held in Building 34A at Keswick Barracks, which is accessible from the main entrance on ANZAC Hwy. There is secure free parking available across from the venue and traffic wardens will be available on the night to guide you.... Dress: Smart Casual. Make sure you wear some comfortable shoes for a light spot of dancing through the night. Food and Drinks: There will be small canteen selling soft drinks, tea, coffee and lollies. We welcome you to bring food and drinks for your table, however please no alcohol or food containing nuts. How to pay: Were happy to accept payment in cash at any point up to, and including the night. Alternatively, if youd like to process via EFT, let us know and well give you the details. Theres no ATMs on barracks so make sure you bring along some cash on the night, including gold coins for a whiskey toss. What will the night include? Our Ceilidh will involve two fantastic performances by the Gracenotes Academy and 413 Pipes and Drums, highland dancing displays, and a crash course on some traditional Scottish folk dances We look forward to seeing you there!

06.01.2022 Great start to the Christmas season with our Gracenotes students Abbie Spicer, Kiara Di Gusto and William Mulligan joining the talented City of Adelaide Pipe Band for the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant in the city this morning. Much fun to be had by all!

01.01.2022 A big congratulations to everyone who competed this Saturday at the Port Adelaide Caledonian Society Fred Adams contest. In particular, wed like to congratulate the following Gracenotes members who were successful in taking home a prize: Belle Esplin - 1st Place Novice Chanter... Daniel Shepherd - 2nd place, D Grade Marches William Mullighan - 3rd Place, C Grade Marches and B Grade Hornpipe Jig This was a significant event also for Belle Esplin and Brooke Mumford who competed in their first ever solo competition, and Simon Shepherd for his return to competitive piping. We would also like to say a big thank you to all the tutors in the programme and 413 ACU Pipes and Drums who have invested a huge amount of time over the past few months to help our learners achieve their goals. Well done all and we look forward to our first solo drumming contest in October!
