25.01.2022 People have so many different dietary requirements these days. A big one I see is gluten free. There are many reasons why a person may be gluten free or trying to reduce overall gluten intake. Unfortuntaley if you take a moment to read the labels of alot of products marketed as 'gluten free', you will notice, they are not great..... #glutenfreedoesnotmeanhealthy I am often experimenting with alternatives and trying new brands and new products. A couple of years ago I came across buckwheat. Don't be put off by the name, ending in wheat. It is actually wheat free. Here are some of the reasons I like using buckwheat flour. It's a great gluten free flour made from seeds, so it is also a source of protein and fibre. It's versitile, I use buckwheat pasta sometimes, buckwheat nodles and buckwheat flour in baking. Buckwheat is an excellent source of magnesium. It's great for those trying to avoid or reduce gluten intake. Have you tried buckwheat before? What did you think? #buckwheatnutrition #glutenfreegrains #freefromgluten #wholefood #glutenalternatives #cookingsubstitutes #dietaryrequirements #healthybananabread #healthybaking #nutritiontips #tryingsomethingnew #readlabels #sourceofmagnesium

16.01.2022 GUT LOVING salad Gut health is an important area to assess when addressing hormonal imbalances. The body makes and break down hormones. Much of the work involved with the detoxification of hormones takes place in the liver, however if the gut is compromised, or if constipation is an issue, this raises much concern about a very important step of the detoxification process. ... Without good digestive function, the body will struggle to eliminate waste products, leading to these being reabsorbed which can contribute to a number of symptoms including skin breakouts and rashes, bloating, nausea, fatigue and pre-menstrual symptoms. Some great ways to support good gut health and optimsise digestive function, and therefore detoxification is by eating an abundance of plant foods. Plant foods contain prebiotic fibres that feed the gut bacteria, providing fuel to thrive and flourish. An easy way to get more plant foods in the diet is through colourful summery salads, smoothies, soups and stri frys. If you are struggling with food inspiration, just start with adding some more colour to your plate. Colour = variety = diversity = good gut health! If you have been experinecing any digestive symptoms such as constipation, gas and bloating, please reach out for support.

01.01.2022 Konjac noodles, a food suggestion from my @microbaofficial microbiome report. The prebiotic fibre Glucomannan found in konjac root has been suggested to reduce the activity of a bacterial enzyme beta glucuronidase in the gut, which is responsible for the metabolism of hormones, medications and environmental toxins. I am enjoy exploring the food suggestions from this report. I love trying new things and adding new foods to support a healthy and diverse gut microbiome :)... #microbiomemapping #microbainsights #microbiomehealth #guthealth #digestivewellness #dietdiveristy #plantbased #konjacnoodles #betaglucuronidase #hormonalhealth #naturalhealthpractitioner #clinicalnutritionist #tailorednutrition #personalisednutrition @ Coburg, Victoria, Australia
