24.01.2022 Another week, another (almost) winner! Ollie Tehan was present last Friday, however left before the members draw. Much to the delight of all other members as it will now jackpot this evening to $260. Make sure you hang around between 6-8pm for your chance to win!
23.01.2022 HAPPY NEW YEAR to all! On 27 January (Sunday of Australia Day Weekend) we are holding the inaugural "GPHC All Rounder Competition", a unique event where participants play each of the representative sports at GPHC - tennis, squash, racquetball and snooker. Participants will be playing in pairs - where possible a squash or racquetball player will be paired with a tennis player. The competition will comprise the following matches:... - a doubles tennis match (played to 21 points) to tie breaker format. - a singles squash & a singles racquetball game (each played to 21 points). One of the pair will play squash, the other racketball (the pair can decide who plays which game). - a doubles match of a short form of snooker The Australian Open Mixed Doubles and Singles Final will be shown in the clubhouse from 4:30pm in the afternoon and in the evening a BBQ meal provided. Spectators (non participants) are most welcome to enjoy watching the competition and the BBQ (cost of $10). The competition will be mixed, and depending on the number of participants, where possible will be graded. Prior to the day, participants will be notified of your pairing and the time of your events. We expect to run the competition in the afternoon and early evening however the first start time will depend on the number of participants, so please advise if you have any time restrictions. Reply with your interest and any questions you may have. To register for this event, comment below or private message by Tuesday 22nd January. Cost is $10 for full members and $30 for social members. Cost includes a BBQ meal at the end of the day.
23.01.2022 GPHC coach Sels is through to her second consecutive final in PSA events. She’ll take on Christine Nunn tomorrow in the Mulgrave Open. After that it’s GPHC’s first ever PSA tournament starting March 4 at the club.

18.01.2022 It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. The GPHC Xmas tree is up and looking merry. As you can see the bright is not quite there. That’s where you can help. In the spirit of Christmas, we are fundraising for the Hawthorn Community Chest, a local charity group helping the local community.... With your help, we can truly make this Christmas special for the those in need, by buying a bauble for onwards from $5, you can have your bauble sitting proudly on the tree for all to see. And if you’d like the honour of placing the GPHC Star at the top of the tree, you can do so from $50 onwards. It’s been a tough year for a lot of people, so every dollar counts. 10.01.2022 Our recent Squash Club Champs were a great success with 54 players registered to compete in 11 Graded competitions. A total of 88 matches were played over the weekend, which culminated in the open finals followed by presentations and a BBQ. Congratulations to the winners and runners-up in each of the competitions and a big thank you to all who participated.

09.01.2022 The 2019 Tennis Victoria Pennant season has come to a close and what a season it has been for GPHC. With a total of 10 teams competing we had 6 teams make finals and 3 of those teams go on to make the Grand Final! A big Congratulations to Mens Grade 4 for Winning the Pennant and a fantastic effort by our Mens and Ladies Grade 3 teams for making it all the way to the final. Tennis Victoria

08.01.2022 Squash is back! The Committee is pleased to announce that as of Monday the 23rd of November squash will be available for members and guests of all ages. While the Victorian Government has lifted more restrictions, the following must be adhered to: ... * Masks must always be worn inside the clubhouse, except while playing sport or seated at a table in the bar area. * Remember to sign in and out of the Club or use the QR code. * All sport facilities must be booked via the online bookings system. Remember to cancel (via confirmation email) if you cannot attend your booking. * Bring your own drinks as water fountains remain unavailable. * Use hand sanitizer before and after play. * Do not share equipment. * Please leave the gym, squash and snooker areas once you have completed your activity. * The gym will be closing at 8pm, with last booking at 7pm. * Limit of 2 players per squash court and maximum of 20 people in the squash area. See attachment for reminder on return to play. The change rooms are open for use. 03.01.2022 WOW! What a weekend! As the 2019 Tennis Club Championships come to an end, we congratulate our newest Mens and Ladies Open Singles Champions, Frank Moser & Miranda Poile. The quality of tennis was amazing and it was great to see so many people involved in this years Championships. GPHC is proud to announce that we have set record numbers for total entries and we are already planning to make next years Championships even bigger. A big thank you to everyone who participated in the various events, it was great to see so many juniors involved and having success across all grades.

The competition was well received by members, who eagerly filled all available spots as quickly as the email for interests went out.
