23.01.2022 What a beautiful big week of learning with our little group. My highlights and wow moments as I think back how they have all grown so much from crawling little ones to the confident young children ready to take on big adventures. I often get asked why I do what I do and the answer is I love it!! I love developing a deep meaningful relationship with not just the child but the whole family. Family daycare is unique it is not long daycare it’s not kindy. For me it is working wit...h the family, developing a program that supports their learning but also fostering them so they grow up to be confident little people. 21.01.2022 Happy little gardeners today looking at all the fruit growing at Mt coot-thas community gardens. Seeing all the food growing in the garden and observing healthy habits that we create. Even thou the children have a small garden at our daycare we love seeing ideas that we could use in companion planting. Our small little group loves meeting up with another little group to enjoy larger group activities. 21.01.2022 Saying yes to nature. Today we enjoyed our bush walk to a local park. By providing no equipment for the children (balls, books or toys/materials) the children had to discover for themselves the joys of listening to nature and experience the wonders of creative thinking. Singing, drawing, bird watching, butterfly chasing and role playing it was such a wonderful day to be out in nature. We stopped under a nice tree had a drink and they role played with sticks and stones and th...e trees themselves. It was nice just to sit and observe and see their learning unfold. There were leaders in the group that set up games and there was others that took a step back and looked for ice breakers to join in with their friends. It is sometimes hard to find play cues and by fostering friendships how do we engage or over engage as a educator or parent? 20.01.2022 Puddle jumping, catching bubbles and learning all about our natural world with our friends is the best way to spend the day celebrating a little friends birthday. Happiest of Birthdays to little 4 year old friend. Family daycare is the perfect care for multi-age and abilities, we even worked hard to learn sign language to communicate with a friend we meet up with. Children have a ability to include if they are given the tools and opportunity to learn through inclusion.

Those Ekka winds have sadly blown over our beautiful Brenda. The children and I had no choice but to chop the tree up. The children actively took part in supporting each other with the saw, we went over safety rules how to keep our friend safe and ourselves. Super ideas needed? To extend on this activity tomorrow. 13.01.2022 I am inviting a child over the age of 4 years to 12 years to join us on a learning journey. home school age or limited overnight care for shift workers and respite. Childcare is registered with Carabundi kids and child care rebates are available for families that are registered. At Indooroopilly family daycare our days are filled with learning about growing food, exploring our natural world, caring for our animal friends. I will work together with parents that are not send...ing their children to school with set learning tasks through technology and workbooks. As it is a multi age learning environment there is room for discovering and discussion with other peers. 13.01.2022 A great visit to the library today. We enjoyed picking out some interesting books for Jesss library and for taking home to read with our families. The children love bringing in their own library cards and bags to childrens timeat our local library, meeting our friends, singing songs and participating in group activities is one of the highlights of family day care.

12.01.2022 Working on our hand strengthening activities the children engage in many different activities. Washing activities not only gives the children meaningful work but is a vital part of developing strong working muscles to help in life. Our 3 year olds had fun today with the sensory task of applying different amounts of pressure wringing out the cloth, circle motions of the task and using spray bottles and whisking the bubbles. 12.01.2022 We all had a great afternoon at our weekend/overnight care today with a trip to our local community garden. The children enjoyed picking and eating baby corn, learning more about worm farms and how to make our more productive. A great innovative of green workshops put on by the local council and our local community.

Connecting to our world and learn how to become nature warriors the children love being involved in their own learning, where it takes us and what we learn is their choice. It is at family daycare they are offered real experiences and the children love to grow things, we collect seeds, take care of our worm farm everyday, water our plants and look after our daycare pets.
