15.01.2022 Remedial massage therapy is a soft tissue treatment that can relieve pain, restore muscle function, improve performance and range of movement, aid in muscle growth and improve your overall wellbeing. During a remedial treatment you will undergo a series of ROM/muscle strength/orthopaedic testing to determine the area of tension or injury within your body. Based off your results and health history form, we will conduct a treatment plan best suited to you. The actual treatment ...may involve trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage and PNF stretching. Afterwards you will receive homecare advice with stretches and strengthening exercises that will maximise your results and help achieve recovery quicker. Some common conditions that can be relieved through remedial treatment are: nerve pain such as sciatica, headaches, sports injuries, carpel tunnel syndrome, frozen shoulder, chronic muscle pain, muscle tension, runners knee, tennis elbow and vertigo.
11.01.2022 Does anyone suffer from headaches or migraines? Or find they have jaw pain or aching behind the eyes? What I find in most people is headaches and migraines can stem from tight muscles in areas such as your neck and shoulders. Alot of people who regularly experience headaches ususally suffer from stress, work a desk job or a physical job that requires lifting their arms in an upwards motion or heavy lifting, or exercises a lot through their chest and shoulder region. This can ...then cause rounding or tightness through the shoulders which can lead to muscle strain through these areas where trigger points then form and cause referred pain to the face, typically in the jaw or behind the eyes- causing headaches and potentially migraines. By treating not just the affected area (where you feel your headaches) but also through the neck and shoulders as well as implying some strengthening exercises for your back to help your posture and stop you from rounding forward, youll find headachesa nd even migraines can be kept to a minimum. 08.01.2022 Relaxation massage is an excellent way to unwind, de-stress and improve your overall wellbeing. It is an awesome way to treat yourself or someone special, however it can go way beyond relaxation. Relaxation therapy can aid in decreasing muscle tension, improve blood flow and circulation, bring more oxygen to blood, decrease muscle atrophy, improve neural pathways and help detox. During a relax treatment we will go through your health history form, determine areas of your body... that youd like treated and conduct a treatment plan best suited to you. Afterwards you will be given homecare advice to help prolong the benefits you will receive from the treatment. Some common conditions relaxation massage therapy can help relieve or assist with are: insomnia, stress and anxiety, depression, muscle tension, headaches, hay fever and blocked sinuses, lymphatic drainage, digestion, arthritis and boosting of the immune system.
07.01.2022 I know times are tough and confusing at the moment, but it's important to do our best to stay positive and healthy in the meantime. We can still find ways to exercise and enjoy ourselves as we wait for this isolation period to be over. At the moment we are in stage one, where non essential businesses and stores such as gyms, pubs and churches are shut down. However massage DOES NOT count as stage one. As a health service it is classed as an essential, therefore health b...usinesses have not been asked to close down. I am still up and running as of this moment and will keep you all updated as to when I won't be. Heath professionals have always strongly implemented appropriate hand and clinic hygiene. We wash our hands before and after every client, wipe the tables, surfaces and doorknobs down with disinfectant between each patient as well as changing the towels over for every client. All of this is implemented in my practice on a daily basis with it without the current virus, to ensure that my clients and myself are prevented from nasty bacterias. The virus is contracted through respiratory droplets, like spittle from coughing or sneezing or by directly being breathed on. Not through sweat or contact of the skin. So it is still safe to receive treatment. To take further precaution I'll be treating all clients face down so we are not breathing on each other. I know these are scary times, I know it's a bit panicky. But your health and management of stress is still important and still vital. And it's still so important to try and support small business in these tough times as best as we can. So please still grab takeaway from your local cafe, and book in to the at home hairdresser and beautician, and come in to see the local massage therapist or chiropractor. Or if you're seeing a physio for injury grab an at home rehab program and check in with them online if it's an option to help them stay up and running. Talk to your local PT and have them do online programs with you. Small things can keep small business still going through these times without compromising the isolation period. All these professionals are highly educated in proper hand hygiene, infection and bacteria control and keeping their clinics/stores/ products safe. To book in call on 0434068004 or message me through here. Stay safe, have good hand hygiene and remain positive everyone
