17.01.2022 DON'T GET CAUGHT OUT THIS WINTER FREE PERFORMANCE AND BATTERY LOAD TEST TO DETERMINE THE CURRENT CONDITION At colder temperatures, the battery’s ability to provide sufficient power to start and run a vehicle is diminished. Automotive batteries are rated in CCA (Cold-Cranking Amperage). This is the amount of current a battery can deliver for 30 seconds at -18 C without dropping to a specified cut-off voltage. A fully charged lead-acid battery can survive up to 50 C, but a battery with a low state of charge can freeze at 1 C. When the water in a battery freezes it expands and can cause irreparable damage to the cells.

16.01.2022 COVID-19 update We, at Graeme Horner Automotive are taking the spread of COVID-19 extremely seriously. Our priority is always the safety and well-being of our employees and our customers. We wanted to take this opportunity to update you on our actions.... So far as is possible in these challenging times we are looking to maintain our normal levels of service. Please be assured we are closely monitoring and following the latest advice from the World Health Organisation, Federal Government and State Government, and in the event of any escalation in this advice we will follow their guidance. Whilst we are, as always, delighted to see our customers, please don’t be offended that we won’t be shaking hands and will be practicing social distancing where possible as the overwhelming evidence shows this will help to slow down the spread of the virus. We have implemented additional processes to reduce the risk of passing on infection. We have increased cleaning programmes, especially for those areas touched regularly by employees or customers. As part of our normal servicing procedures we will be wiping down the steering wheel, buttons/switches, gear shift, handles and keys of every vehicle with disinfectant. 16.01.2022 Before and after photos showing how important oil changes are Customer had come in with a Hyundai that had been neglected to be serviced for 38,000km Engine was heavily contaminated with sludge. We where able to bring some life back into the engine by filling the engine up with special cleaning fluids and leaving to soak over night, then remove rocker cover and sump and high pressure clean throughout the engine. Removed and unblocked the oil pick up and screen. Dried engine and re assembled with fresh oil.

03.01.2022 IN STORE DISC BRAKE MACHINING Machining your disc brakes is highly recommended while replacing brake pads. Machining them gives them a perfect new flat surface for the brake pads to bed into for optimum braking performance. This is a very cost effective way to to improve your braking efficiency for usually half the price if not more of new brake rotors. This technique is also used to eliminate brake vibration.
