16.01.2022 Lets split? Not sure if you should be fixed or variable? Want to have a little bit each way? Or maybe you want some of the feature-rich options that come wi...th some loan products but also want some certainty around repayments for the next few years. These could all be reasons to go into a split loan. A split loan is where you have a portion of the loan balance fixed and a portion variable, this could be 50/50 or 70/30 or whatever you like really. Already in a loan but think this sounds good? It’s good to see Philip Lowe (Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia) questioning the impost of stamp duty (transfer duty). https...://bit.ly/2Y81c9E Transfer duty or what used to be known as stamp duty is a state government tax payable on certain transactions such as the purchase of real estate. The duty is payable when you settle the purchase i.e. get the keys. Mr Lowe describes it as a tax on mobility stating that he would support the scrapping of stamp duty as a part of broader tax reform. Stay tuned! ... But it might be a long wait!!
