23.01.2022 We would like to thank everyone for their help with adherence to the current Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions. Following on from advice from Hockey NSW (see below post from HNSW) we would like everyone to be mindful of the following: The idea is to Train/Play and leave.... Remember you need to arrive ready to play, stick, mouth guard, shin pads and your own water bottle. For juniors it is 1 parent per child, if you feel your child needs supervision. No siblings For juniors playing in the senior competition it is 1 parent per u18 child if you feel they need supervision. Remember to sign in and out at the gate. If you are unwell please stay home. We want to continue to play and finish off our season strongly so please respect the rules we have to follow from HNSW and NSW Health.

20.01.2022 Following on from the release of the Sport Australia and Hockey Australia Return To Sport Toolkit, Hockey NSW has developed a Return To Hockey Guidance for Venu...es, Clubs, Associations and Individuals. This is an overview that sets out the roles and responsibilities of each party to ensure that we can return to the field as quickly and as safely as possible. In addition to the below, this week Hockey NSW has been holding video-conferences with all Associations and identified Clubs and Venues, to give them a briefing on the Return To Hockey requirements. These have been extremely fruitful and engaging so far and we thank our volunteers for giving up their time to attend. 20.01.2022 Over the past few weeks, we've had a number of enquiries about hygiene protocols for goal-keepers and their equipment. While the simplest and safest solution i...s to ensure that you have your own equipment, Hockey NSW understands this isn't economically or logistically possible in many circumstances. So we have developed some guidelines which we hope clear up some confusion and outline best practise while we still have restrictions in place.

18.01.2022 Hi All, With the start of the hockey season coming around the corner it also means that the rep hockey is close behind. We need expression of interest for athletes that are willing to travel and represent Grafton.... Under 18’s boys who will be traveling to Illawarra from the 14th to the 16th of May. Under 15’s boys who will be traveling to Hockey New England from the 28th to the 30th of May. 18.01.2022 Compulsory Junior Induction clinics will take place @ GHA pavilion over 4 days from Monday April 12 till Thursday April 15. Clinics are planned to start at 5pm and should conclude by 5.30pm. Please register your preferred day with [email protected]. This induction is in line with our new Junior On Field Safety Policy.

13.01.2022 2021 season update As we all know 2020 has been an extraordinary year in regards to hockey. Following the Board meeting a decision has been made that the 2021 hockey season will commence on Thursday March 4, 2021 with junior boys. Men’s 1st & 2nd grade will commence on Friday March 5. Minkey, Junior girls, Boys under 7, 9’s, women’s and men’s will commence on Saturday March 6. This decision was made as the Competitions Committee has limited members following the AGM and the first CC meeting is not scheduled until Feb 3. The Board wish to add value for our members by coming in line with other Associations across the State with an earlier start. Senior Grand Final has been set down for Saturday September 25, 2021. On behalf of the GHAI Board we thank you for your support during the year. We look forward to seeing you all next year.

These are to ensure that t...he hockey field is a safe place for everyone! The checklists below were distributed to Clubs and Associations last week. You may have seen these in your inbox already, but we encourage everyone to have a look and make themselves familiar with them. A representative from every Club will also need to ensure that the Club Checklist is completed and submitted to your Association and Hockey NSW before training commences. The virus is sti...ll circulating in small parts of our State and we must stay vigilant and take precautions to protect our vunerable participants and their families. Our hockey community have been fantastic over the past year and we don't want that to stop! So remember to check-in at venues, stay socially distanced where possible and wash your hands.
