16.01.2022 2020 Year 12 School Leavers Wanted Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020/21 harvest seasons are going to be extremely challenging due to a shortage of labour usually provided by travelling workers. To assist local producers to get their crops into markets and on shelves, the Commonwealth Government has engaged Harvest Trail Service Providers such as Cozwine, to attract school leavers to the harvest and provide them with accredited training and a COVID safe harvest experience.... A fully inclusive meals and accommodation package is available. This is a great opportunity for Year 12 students to grab their friends, have an adventure, and make up for some missed experiences. They will earn money, build life skills, gain experience and travel to parts of the country they may never have seen. To register for harvest employment opportunities, head https://www.cozwine.com.au/harvest-trail-jobs/

11.01.2022 COVID UPDATE Regarding the recent concerns arising in QLD and Northern NSW, advice has been received this morning that students and staff who have been in Brisbane since 20 March 2021 should not attend school this week. Below is the advice from NSW Health. There are three key messages:... If a person has returned from Greater Brisbane, which includes Brisbane, Logan, Moreton Bay, Ipswich and Redland Local Government Areas since 20 March 2021 must comply with the Stay at Home Order consistent with those living in those areas in QLD until 5pm Thursday, 1 April 2021. This means they cannot attend work or come to school for this period. If a person has been to any of the close contact locations listed in the table on the dates and during the times listed must self isolate for a period of 14 days from the time they attended the location. This means they will not be able to attend work or school for the full 14 day period. If anyone has been to one of the casual contact locations at on the dates and during the times listed in the table they must get a COVID test and self isolate until they received a negative result. That means they cannot attend work or school until they have received confirmation of their negative result. Then they can return to their normal living arrangements. Updated venues at Byron Bay https://www.health.nsw.gov.au//case-locations-and-alerts.a All staff and families should be monitoring the NSW Health website for updated information over the coming days.

07.01.2022 CRICKET Grafton Girl’s under-14 cricket side went close to snatching a dramatic win against South Grafton High on Thursday. Chasing 71 for victory, South High were cruising at 4-68 before a late order collapse gave Grafton a glimmer of hope in the thirty-plus degree heat at JJ Lawrence Field.... South High’s Rhani McGrath blasted a match-winning 27 including five punishing pull-shots to the boundary. But when she fell to Gabi McCrae the door was left ajar for the Grafton bowlers to cash in. Alice Hughes 5/15, Nadia Smith 2/10 and Gabby were the best of the Grafton bowlers while in the field Maia Adamson and wicket-keeper Eliza Berrick were superb. South Grafton reached the required total with 9 wickets down. Earlier Grafton found the going tough with the bat with boundaries being far-and-few between. Letitia Black top scored with a defiant 17. Better luck next year girls.
