24.01.2022 wow what an opportunity

24.01.2022 Great ambassadors for Scouts UK!

22.01.2022 Scouting enables young people to develop their leadership, learn new skills and explore their interests through adventurous, fun, challenging and inclusive acti...vities! Each Scout has the opportunity to choose their own journey and pursue what will be a challenge to them. Scouts who aspire to be involved in a broad range of different activities and experience the highest number of personal challenges can strive for the summit in their journey through an age section. We call this summit the Peak Award! Check out more about this component of our Youth Program here: https://buff.ly/2ZosYj5

21.01.2022 Well done to our new Chief Scientist who is also a Joey Scout Leader.... well done.

20.01.2022 A Scout who has an active involvement in their program cycles will develop new skills and take on new challenges. By participating, assisting and leading activ...ities for their peers, Scouts are supported to achieve their personal best and are recognised for their learnings and personal development. We call this the Program Essentials! Check out more about this component of our Youth Program here: https://buff.ly/3gVSp1f

14.01.2022 Parents, guardians and carers can now claim their second Active Kids voucher the year via Service NSW. The process for claiming your voucher and then using it w...ith Scouts is the same as previous years. Simply follow the instructions below! Some sports and other activities were cancelled due to COVID, but Scouting continued and will keep going until the end of the year, so now's a great time to get ready for more active Scouting in the second half of 2020. To use your Active Kids vouchers with Scouts, click here: https://www.nsw.scouts.com.au/activekids/

14.01.2022 ANZAC Day is fast approaching, and whilst we cannot be certain as to what this may look like in the current circumstances, now is the time to start doing your r...esearch and preparing for this day. Each year, we commonly find ourselves asking, What can Scouts do, and not do, at commemoration activities? Here are some common questions that have been collated for you to consider in preparation https://bit.ly/commemoratingourANZACs

12.01.2022 Last weekend Grafton and Iluka Scout groups joined together with both Cubs n Scouts to run a Patrol camp weekend which included, setting up tents, cooking meals, hiking at Glenugie to the top of Glenugie Peak, impromptu waterslide by the leaders to wash off the mud from the hike (no rain on hike), construction activity and games together. That was day 1 (no rain). Day 2 woke upto rain, pack up, hang up tents in the back area of the hall to dry out, clean up the grounds and the hall before doing closing and going home early. Youth and Leaders all went home tired and happy for such a great weekend.

11.01.2022 At Scouts NSW, our youth members are at the forefront of our movement, and their protection is fundamental to who we are. Today we are launching a youth safety... education campaign: Know It. Live It. Log It. Safe fun for All. as part of our commitment to safeguarding all young people in Scouting. This campaign gives all individuals in Scouting in NSW the practical steps to ensure every young person in Scouts feels safe, supported and empowered. Each person in Scouts NSW must: 1. KNOW our Promise and Law, 2. LIVE by our Promise and Law, and 3. LOG anything that breaches our Promise and Law recognising the Promise and Law as the fabric that binds all Scouts together. For all adults involved in Scouts NSW, this requirement extends to our Code of Conduct. In Scouts, youth safety is everyone’s responsibility. Building a strong youth safe culture is a team effort and we all have a role to play. Learn more about it here: www.nsw.scouts.com.au/youthprotection/knowit-liveit-logit/

05.01.2022 Many people in the community are making the decision to wear face masks when out and about, particularly if they are unable to physically distance. If you choose to wear a face mask, make sure you do so properly by following these steps.

03.01.2022 At Scouts NSW, we know that it’s important to match our words with our actions. To do what we say we will do is key to being a Scout. To LIVE by the Promise and... Law (and the Code of Conduct for adults) is to make sure the actions we take each day align with our values. This includes living by our Policies and Procedures, supporting others to do the right thing and showing respect to others. By living out our Promise and Law (and Code of Conduct for adults), we all play a part in creating an environment where all our members are safe, supported and empowered. KNOW IT. LIVE IT. LOG IT. SAFE FUN FOR ALL. Find out more here: www.nsw.scouts.com.au/youthprotection/knowit-liveit-logit/
