23.01.2022 Been wandering about in the dark tonight at Thallon, camped next to the impressive painted silos.

22.01.2022 Our recent trip to Tasmania was unfortunately cut short due to the restrictions brought about for the pandemic, but we did manage to visit a few of the highlights and get some nice photos. These were taken at Nelson Falls 30 klms out of Queenstown.

22.01.2022 Another of the many waterfalls along Canungra Creek on the Box Forest Circuit in Lamington National Park near O'Reilly's Guesthouse. This was taken 21st January 2000 with my Mamiya RB67 on Kodak Vericolor III Professional film.

20.01.2022 A warm (40 degrees!) midnight desert stopover for The Ghan, just outside of Coober Pedy in January this year. We were treated to spectacular cloud formations in the moonlight, together with lightning strikes as the evening's storms moved away.

19.01.2022 One of the many waterfalls along Canungra Creek on the Box Forest Circuit in Lamington National Park near O'Reilly's Guesthouse. This was taken 21st January 2000 with my Mamiya RB67 on Kodak Vericolor III Professional film.

18.01.2022 More from Lamington National Park, this time the cascades on Tooloona Creek. This shot from our walk there in November 1999.

16.01.2022 Just going through some of my older negatives and thought these would be worth sharing, this was one of my big adventures in September/October of 1971 which as many of you would know was a life changing event for me! Cedric Reinhardt (who I knew from my rally connections) was producing a documentary for the Macarthur River Cattle Co. in the Northern Territory and needed a driver and stills photographer to finish off his project. So we set off in my VW headed for the Gulf Country. It was a pretty eventful trip which ended up with us on a bus to get back home after a breakdown in Augathella, but that is a whole other story!

15.01.2022 Cruising down to the mouth of the Pieman River at Corinna in the MV Arcadia II, March 2020.

15.01.2022 One of the many interesting places along the Oodnadatta Track, the Wabma Kadarbu Mound Springs, about 130 kilometres north of Maree. Wabma Kadarbu is the site of an Arabana Dreaming story, it literally translates to 'snake head'. The Blanche Cup and The Bubbler are natural artesian springs created from water deep within the Great Artesian Basin which filters to the surface, forming mounds and bubbling ponds. The wetlands created by the spring's overflow provide habitat to a variety of waterbirds.

15.01.2022 Way out West this time, the spectacular landscape and colours along the road between Winton and Boulia. Highlight of this drive is a visit to the only settlement along the 370 klm road, the Middleton Hotel, where if lucky you can wake up the publican Lester Cain and have a chat along with your burger and beer.

14.01.2022 Another panorama from the Flinders Ranges on our trip in September 2014. This is sunrise over the spectacular Wilpena Pound, to the left of shot is Rawnsley Bluff which is the southern end of the National Park, Moonane Gap in the Centre and Point Bonney at the right.

14.01.2022 Still in SE Queensland, love this simple black and white image taken along the forestry tracks near Gympie. It was March 1971 and I was assisting the late Brian Gemmell in course checking the inaugural Gympie Golden 500 Rally. The photos were used to promote interest in the event and show some of the conditions the crews would encounter.

12.01.2022 Lamington National Park in Queensland, Elabana Falls near O'Reilly's Guest House, January 2000. Taken with my Mamiya RB67 medium format camera with 90mm f3.8 lens on Kodak Vericolor III Type S Professional 120 rollfilm.

09.01.2022 Still close to home, this is the huge Moreton Bay Fig at the Little Yabba Creek Park, just south of Kenilworth. Photo taken in February 2000.

08.01.2022 Another angle of Elabanah Falls on Canungra Creek, Lamington National Park. This was taken on one of our walks from O'Reilly's in 1998.

06.01.2022 Have recently had a trip through Central Australia, visited lots of places we have never seen before and captured some memorable images. This is the sunset over the Kanku-Breakaways Conservation area about 33 klms north of Coober Pedy.

06.01.2022 Another Tasmanian gem, Russell Falls on the road out to the Gordon River Dam in Tassie's South West. A nice amount of water flowing when we were there earlier this year in March.

03.01.2022 With plenty of time on our hands at the moment what better idea than to do a virtual tour of Australia - can't get out there in the flesh but at least we can have a look around from our photographic memories. Starting off from SE Qld of course, one of my favourite spots here as you head west is the crossing of the Great Divide at Cunningham's Gap. The light on the Main Range as you look north towards Mt Castle changes dramatically depending on the time of the day. There are only one or two safe spots to stop on the climb up the range but it is always worth the effort to do so and capture another image.

02.01.2022 Atherton Tablelands has many spectacular waterfalls, and the Millstream Falls just out of Ravenshoe are up there with the best. This view was taken on our trip north in July 1989, we visited there again a few years back and the tracks that led to the bottom of the gorge had all been closed off, so could not repeat the shot. Photo taken with my Nikkormat and 28mm lens on Kodachrome.

01.01.2022 One of the highlights of our journey along the Oodnadatta Track was a stay at the iconic William Creek Hotel and a flight over Lake Eyre. Floodwaters flowing into the lake were reaching their peak so it was a once in a lifetime experience. Unfortunately the photos just fail to do it justice.

01.01.2022 Sunset over the rockpools at Margaret River, West Australia, July 2016.
