20.01.2022 Queensland Building and Construction Commission - QBCC - The most corrupt agency in Queensland has posted its latest round of rubbish on its Facebook page. One ...long-term affected Queenslander had a few comments to say about it. "Why does the QBCC have around an amount approaching half a billion dollars ($327,000,000.00) invested in Queensland Treasury and Queensland Investment Corporation of funds raised through the Hone Warranty Scheme, when it underwrites that scheme through a third party and the costs of that underwritten policy are significantly less than the collections from the homeowner's insurance policies when they construct? Also, why is the HWS capped at $200,000 under the regulation when the fees it collects continue to climb on a linear basis in line with the costs of the house construction? A fixed and capped HWS entitlement of $200,000 means that homeowners are being effectively sold dud insurance the moment their policy costs exceed that of a $200,000 home build. If this were any other insurer, it would be hauled over the coals and forced to return the excess collections or honor the full and equivalent value for those funds paid. Further, when the QBCC fails to honour the policy wording (eg the legislation) does that then give rise for a class action? So many things to ponder..... One last question, if the warranty has validity for 6 years and 6 months, why does the qbcc claim year after year it needs to make ‘provisions’ for claims up to 10 years from the time the house was ‘complete’?" Here's the data. Take a look yourself.
