01.01.2022 Several years ago, the Merredin operating theatre closed for renovations, however, it was never reopened after authorities judged that it no longer met current standards. Though the government has said it will be reopened, there has been no news on when. This has left residents facing a 3-4 hour trip if they need to reach a hospital, our hearts go out to the people of Merredin, Western Australia
