22.01.2022 *Bad News* Arrived early to check in and were told that we needed to complete an online C-19 travel declaration for each of us - did that while we were in the queue. Just got all 4 done in time to be told that Cate could not fly because she did not have an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) Visa. I woke my trusty travel agent at 0619 who immediately applied for one in real time - but it was automatically put on hold pending further information, so missed our flights. Travel a...gent called Australian Immigration with me on a conference call who agreed to prioritise Cate’s pending 12 month tourist visa. Airline won’t re-book our flights without evidence of a visa, Aussie Immigration working hard on getting her visa approved as a priority. 20.01.2022 Great thermal conditions were perfect for a stunning cross country 300k glide. Flew from Upavon over Newbury, Aylesbury, Milton Keynes, Bedford, Oxford, Marlborough and Pewsey to Grafham Water and back. Cate and children are being great and thanks to so great friends and family for messages of support - you are all Awesome! Thinking of maybe travelling 2 at a time to take advantage of available seats but might have to quarantine separately?? @travelcounsellors being awesome, @british_airways @qatarairways

08.01.2022 *QUARANTINE* at the Playford Hotel... So many wonderful people have been in touch during our epic adventure to our new life in Australia. Thought I’d share a ta...ste of the Quarantine experience to try to answer some of the many questions. Rules and control are extremely rigorous (as expected) but the level of care and hotel support is excellent. Daily calls from the police (accountability), a doctor (physical health) and nurse (mental well-being). 3 COVID tests, unlimited in-house movies, daily family quiz, yoga and fitness sessions. Weekly Bingo and live musician performance through the hotel TV channel. Kids have been doing homeschooling, music lessons and playing lots of board and card games with us... even taught them Euchre! Next Adventure: The family are driving 6 hours to collect us on release day (6 Mar) and back home to Victoria the same day! Interstate ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!! See more
