19.01.2022 *real talk and a smile for the hard days* Several days ago I decided to announce our studio doors will be temporarily closed. Like most business owners, this presented as a challenging decision. In a matter of days myself and my team have managed to adjust and re arrange our studio structure entirely. The thought of this transition itself felt impossible; yet here we are! In a world where our norm is in person and face to face learning, we have completely re designed our teac...hing methods to suit our students. When I made this decision I’ll be honest I was truly overwhelmed. I knew my team needed me, I needed them and our students needed US. I know that our students also deserve to have the chance to maintain a sense of normality. As creative beings we thrive on these endorphins that we are so used to having. To our entire student body THANK YOU seeing all of your smiley faces on our screens, giving this a go and not going without.. is inspiring. 11.01.2022 Corona Virus (COVID - 19) Although this is a challenging time for our community and society; we are taking the hygiene and wellbeing of all staff, students and visitors of our studio very seriously. Adding to our regular hygiene standards we have instilled Hand sanitizer stations, disposable cups and all instruments and surfaces cleaned per student. This is just a small part of the actions we have taken to ensure our studio environment is clean and safe. We do ask any stude...nts who have travelled recently to get in touch with us at the studio to discuss alternate lesson options. If you seem to have any flu like symptoms please contact the studio immediately. If you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID - 19 please notify the studio of this. 02.01.2022 Let’s talk about how power house notes are often compromised because singers don’t wish to have their face looking a ‘certain way’. Scrunching of the nose, flaring of the nostrils, wrinkles on the forehead, mouth opening wide as your jaw extends and the chin drops. ALL a part of the human body preparing to produce a strong sound. It is SO important to understand without these face muscles moving we CAN NOT achieve optimal results. There are many techniques and postural elemen...ts that are fundamental for correct placement and healthy singing. Lifting the cheeks automatically lifts the soft palate allowing a beautiful resonance to come through. This reduces nasal sounds as well! Ladies & gents do not be afraid to do whatever it takes to sound your best. Just a friendly reminder to let go of what it ‘looks like’ to focus on what it sounds like. Happy freeeeee singing See more
