25.01.2022 When your WWOOFER get shit on by a lamb. He did freak our and nearly spew. Haha. Thanks for your help catching, weighing and tagging lambs. We appreciate it even if the lambs dont. OH&S job issue. Need to look into that

25.01.2022 White Suffolk twins born today. Gorgeous. Perfect weight. Up and drinking. Wonderful ewe with great mothering. Just what we ordered! #whitesuffolk #lambing2020 #farminglife

25.01.2022 This is our lovely 117 Yellow Tag. She is in our hospital paddock with a foot abscess. This morning she had a gorgeous set of twins again for us. Because it is freezing cold we double rugged them and gave them a good feed of colostrum. Mumma has had a big drink and a feed. all doing well. A bit of TLC for our lovely old girl.

25.01.2022 Gorgeous Saturday afternoon with the ewes and lambs out on the crop. Mt Pilot looking stunning! Love the green! #farminglife #suffolksheepsociety #mtpilotnationalpark #mtpilot #winter2020 #lambing2020

24.01.2022 We are loving seeing our little crop of oates starting to seed. Hay time is getting closer! This is the first time that we are doing hay and we are very excited! We estimate we will get between 2000 and 3000 small bales. We might just have to do a few rounds just so it is a little less work. Hopefully lots of people need hay this year! #cropping2020 #oates #farminglife

24.01.2022 Granite our best ram deciding to use the ute as a scratching post. At least he is super duper quiet. #wildandfree #farminglife #whitesuffolk

24.01.2022 Our two little ladies. Lots of space. Little legs. Lots of running. Keep up with the 4wd bike no problems. Too cute. How fast is your chihuahua and terrier?

24.01.2022 See you later gorgeous little lady

23.01.2022 When your mummas got a random abscess in her udder and you need supplement feeding each day! She now just runs up to me in the paddock for her top up. Love it. Too cute. #whitesuffolk #farminglife

22.01.2022 The vantage point of Mount Pilot. Up high on the loading ramp. What a beautiful view. How lucky our little ones are! #growingfarmers #farminglife #farmingkids #bestsisters

22.01.2022 Perfect crisp morning to have twin ewe lambs. Thanks 810 for another set of beautiful healthy twins and being an amazing mumma yet again. 5 out of 5. Literally! Lol. #whitesuffolk #lambing2020 #farminglife #ewe #twinlambs

22.01.2022 Lambing has begun. Yay. Best time of the year.

21.01.2022 Still sending out a dozen fertilized eggs a day! Since covid hit we have sold a dozen fertilized eggs each day for hatching! It is so wonderful that people are thinking about where their food comes from and are enjoying the simple things in life. Chooks are the best! #farminglife #hatchingeggs #hatchingchicks #fertilizedeggs

21.01.2022 Our wicking beds are even producing in winter. Yummy winter crop. Snow peas. Broccoli. Cauliflower. Brussel sprouts. Peas. Silverbeet. #wickingbeds #wintercrop #homegrownveggies @ Granden Park; Suffolk Stud, White Suffolks, Boer Goats and Poultry

21.01.2022 Meet Tiny Tina suffolk. Every couple of years we get a teeny tiny lamb. This year we are bottle feeding her. She is so little and was part of a twin set out of a maiden ewe. Her brother is a normal size and with mum still and doing well. The ewe is still looking for her which is impressive but we took her as they just dont survive out in the paddock this small. Tiny Tina is very spirited as usual and loved by the girls. There will be lots of Tiny Tina spam. We definitely wont use her for breeding but she will be a cute little pet for a while. #poddylamb #tinytina

20.01.2022 They look small from a distance! Lizzie and Annie enjoying the view! #oatenhay2020 #wildandfree #farminglife

20.01.2022 Some of our beautiful Suffolk and White Suffolk 14mth old rams that will be offered for sale in coming weeks getting their poses on. Looking gorgeous boys. #suffolksheepsociety #lambing 2019 #whitesuffolk #suffolk #wildandfree #farminglife

20.01.2022 The biggest Granden Park egg ever. One of pur broiler (meat) birds lay this today. Wow. Ouch. Yeicks. How many yolks will be inside? 141g of pure massive eggy goodness. The average egg is 65-70g. She often lays big ones but this is off the chart. #chickensofinstagram #biggesteggever #wildandfree #broilerchickens

19.01.2022 Our gorgeous little pony Lilly coming up from the back paddock ready to head off to Melbourne tomorrow to give a couple of boys lots of loves. She is an absolute treasure in every way (except catching her, then shes an absolute arse ). Pack your bags little lady, off to the big smoke. See you in a few years. Missing her already

18.01.2022 She grows. The oats are standing proud. Thickening. Growing. Its going to be a bumper of a season. Hopefully lots of hay! #cropping2020 #farminglife #oatenhay #oats

18.01.2022 Amd then there was just one more little surprise. This is one of our first cross ewes that was a poddy last year. We kept her as she is so nice and quiet but not too annoying. She was running with our very valuable ram as a buddy but he didn't like her much. So we thought! Oops. He liked her a little at the right time. And that is our last lamb for the season... definitely... A healthy little mixed bred, 3/4 suffolk 1/4 merino ram lamb. With one very amazing mumma. She is doing an absolutely amazing job! #lambing2020 #secondcross #farminglife

18.01.2022 Our broiler birds are a hatching! Hooray! Certainly not the best hatch rate we have had but out of 24 eggs set in the incubator 15 were viable with chicks formed and 7 have hatched so far, 4 are peeping still, 2 have failed and 1 we are waiting for peeping and 1 is suspected as to fail. If we get 12 out of 24 we will be happy. That's 50%! That's a win to start with. It has been a long journey to hatch our first broiler birds. A very long journey. Hopefully they taste good in 10 weeks. #selfsusstainable

17.01.2022 Pretty excited to meet these little guys today. We finally let this old cross bred girl hatch her first clutch after going clucky multiple times and always sending her to clucky jail. Your time to shine lady! 100% fertility and hatch rate. And they eggs sat there for 4 weeks before she decided they were ready to sit on. Haha. Loving our little winter brood. Loving our fertility rates.

17.01.2022 And just like that our longest serving WWOOFER is gone. Thanks and enjoy the rest of your travels Emil. We miss you everyday! Emil came to stay with us when covid hit as he, like many backpackers became a bit stuck! He stayed with us for 6mths volunteering on our farm and learning lots and lots of new skills. For us, lots of jobs done and off the list. For him, life changing skills. #wwoof #farminglife #manythanks #farmhand

17.01.2022 Ewe surfing! Really. Cheeky little man having a play on mumma! Lots of attitude! #whitesuffolk #lambing2020 #farminglife

17.01.2022 The view from our front doors. Naughty calves. #countrylife #ladyfarmer #poddycalf

16.01.2022 As we head towards the end of lambing a gorgeous set of male and female twins with a wonderful maiden White Suffolk ewe doing her job like a champ. And this is why we love farming. Perfection!

15.01.2022 Chicken run. Haha. Bed time ladies and gents. #farmlife

14.01.2022 The orchard is really kicking off! Flowers. Almonds. Looking forward to a bumper crop! This year our orchard is 4 years old! But we are still adding to it. New 5 Crown apple trees this year. Our favourites! Also blueberry, silvanberry and raspberry. #farminglife #selfsufficient #orchard

14.01.2022 This is Greta, or Crazy Goat as we now call her. She was dumped at our farm gate last Friday morning. She has settled into life here pretty well. She hips, hops and bops around with the kids during the day. The kids were having some mid kitchen play time with her helping! #crazygoat #farminglife #farmkids

14.01.2022 These are just 2 of the White Suffolk Ewes we retained from 2019. They are 14 months old. They are gorgeous. Big. Strong. Heathy. Well framed. These are by our Farrah ram. He is a handy little second hand ram we bought 3 years ago by luck. He certainly does us proud each year. We are truly blessed to own him. #whitesuffolk #laming2019 #ewes #wildandfree #farminglife #sheepfarming

14.01.2022 Today Rob and I did a massive 13 hour round trip drive to buy a new Suffolk stud ram. We headed to one of Australia's most renowned breeders, Deppler. We chose a lovely new man to compliment our girls. He wasn't the biggest or the prettiest ram, but he is super duper practical. Gorgeous style with a nice solid thick frame, exceptional bum (most important), good doer, quiet and just a bit smaller. This will definaltey make our shearer's and butcher a bit happier. As we go o...n our journey breeding sheep both White and Black Suffolks we read, listen and learn and make decisions that are best practise for our stud. We really love a sheep that is a solid framed, super tough, a good doer, produces twins every year with exceptional mothering, fast growing, good worm resistance and gut function, quiet and easy to manage and overall a good business investment. At the end of the day we run a business. Input must be as little as possible and output exactly what the market desires. We also want it to be as easy as possible. We don't want much! Our new ram is a big tick in the right direction for our stud. We are really looking forward to using him in 2021. Our new White suffolk ram is very much the same style and we loved his progeny this year! They are growing out just perfectly. Plenty of 'ram spam' to come! Sorry, not sorry! Now just to choose a name! So far we have had/have Gravy Grange Granite Gonzo Porky Jnr (he came with the name!) So needing a new G name! Any suggestions? Why G. Granden Park of course!

14.01.2022 Tiny Tina is growing up and boy do we love her!

13.01.2022 Gorgeous set of healthy triplets born this arvo. Girls and identical boys. Suffolk love

13.01.2022 When you just love your pony. Harry and Lizzie loves. #farminglife #ponylove #firstlove #growingup #growingfarmers

13.01.2022 Hay hay hay! Love the smell of freshly baled oaten hay. Gets me every day I walk outside. A smell like no other. Bliss 150 bales and counting. This week Rob and I decided to also bale half of our front paddock. Lovely Rye Grass hay. A bumper year. Yahoo! ... #hayspam #wildandfree #hay2020 #oatcrop See more

13.01.2022 Our morning ritual at the moment! The brush! The girls just love our Dora! She is in diet jail! Springtime for her means getting fed everyday and being kept off the grass as much as possible. While the rest of the horses are down the back as fat as mud! #farminglife #kidsloveponies #dora

12.01.2022 And just like that kidding is underway. Two healthy sets of triplets today! so far 4 does have kidded and we have 10 kids. Massive! Go mummas!

11.01.2022 Our gorgeous BoutBout enjoying some afternoons sun. This is one of our 2 male boer goats. Did you know Bucks wee in their beards, faces and in their mouths. They do this and then rub their scent all over their paddocks to mark their territory. The does find it attractive. We think its disgusting. It really stinks. Whatever floats your boat I guess! Lucky boer goat meat tastes so good! Keep up the good work boys. #wildandfree #boergoat #farminglife

11.01.2022 Love this kid and this pony. Dora Flora is a pure gem. #toocute #kidsandponieshavingfun #farmkids #farmlife

11.01.2022 #farmkids They dont know how lucky they are. @ Granden Park; Suffolk Stud, White Suffolks, Boer Goats and Poultry

11.01.2022 Well today brings a single kid, twin kids and another set of triplet kids. Must have been something in the water this year! All healthy and doing amazingly. To date out of our tiny herd 7 does have kidded and we have 16 kids. Awesome. Only 4 does left! Wonder what the rest of the week will bring! This year we are retaining some of our favourite born doelings so we are keeping super tight records! #kidding #boergoat #doeling #buckling

10.01.2022 Pretty excited to get another hatch of fertilized broiler eggs into the incubator. 20 this time! The last batch are due to start hatching this week. 15 viable from 24 isn't too bad for an first hatch. Our rooster can only be left with the girls overnight then he goes back to the main house to eat. They are on a super restrictive diet or they can't walk and stop laying. Literally. Not a well designed chook. These are commercial broiler table birds) crossed with an Orphington... rooster (also a table bird). They are big, fat and hopefully produce tasty chicken meat for our family! Watch this space! #farminglife #grandenpark #broilerbird #selfsusstainable See more

09.01.2022 We are pretty happy with this years batch of Suffolk and White Suffolk lambs. 12 weeks old and nearly the size of their mothers! Yeicks. We are breeding some super stock! Looking forward on some data on these this year. #wildandfree #whitesuffolk #lambing2020 #farminglife #proudfarmers

08.01.2022 Our beautiful White Suffolks with their lambs. So incredibly fat! Growing fast! #farminglife #whitesuffolk #lambing2020 #lambs

08.01.2022 Our young Suffolk and White Suffolk ewes playing amongst the lambing going on around them. We put our young ewes back in with their mums and sisters every year so they can watch them lamb down. They are taking some cheeky time out jumping on and off the bales and heat butting each other. Managed to get a snap with them all looking! Nice work ladies! #suffolkewes #suffolk #whitesuffolk #farminglife

08.01.2022 Lambing Day 1: 3 sets of twins, 3 singles. Its going to be a quick 6 week lambing season at this rate. Might be done in 2 weeks. Good work boys and girls.

06.01.2022 Caught snoozing. One of our cute happy healthy little Suffolk ram lambs.

06.01.2022 Random lamb spam from the last week

05.01.2022 Moving a bunch. A ewe and 2 years of her ewe lambs. All having twins. All waddling the same. I love it how daughters always go back to their mums. Its super cute. And pretty amazing. These ladies will go off and lamb and then return to each other with their lambs all playing and growing up in a little group. We wean at 6mths old for 4 weeks then they are put back with their mums and stay with them forever. Happy sheep. #whitesuffolk #lambing2020 #farminglife #motherdaughters #ewe

04.01.2022 could imagine some of our poddies doing this too. Haha. So adorable!

04.01.2022 Amd then there was just one more little surprise.

03.01.2022 Our first set of triplets for the season and this ladies second set. She is an amazing ewe. 13 lambs in 6 seasons. She is safely tucked away in the warm trailer with some well deserved pellets and hay and her little ones rugged for the night. She will get her own private paddock for a few days. While we dont love triplets as they are so much extra work we do love it when they are strong and healthy and can stay with their mum to grow out. Hopefully the first and last set for this season. Good work mumma. #suffolksheepsociety #lambing2020 #suffolksheep #farminglife

02.01.2022 and that is how we move sheep! Easy!

02.01.2022 It is an honour to lamb down our maiden ewes this year. A maiden with her first babies. What a treasure she is. Both of our stunning rams have given us the most spectacular maiden ewes to lamb down. They are first time professional mummas. Lambs all up and drinking like little champions. #suffolksheepsociety #suffolk #suffolklambq #lambing2020 #farminglife

02.01.2022 Just like that our oaten crop is ready for baling. All rowed up. Looking forward to seeing it all done tomorrow. Hay spam. Excited. #farminglife #oatenhay #bales #wildandfree #cropping2020 #chiltern

01.01.2022 The last kid. And just like that we are all smiling ear to ear. Lambing and kidding all done for 2020. Hooray we cry. A happy healthy cross bred boer buckling out of a doe a good friend gave us. #boergoat #kidding2020 #farminglife #farmkids

01.01.2022 This morning we headed out to let the chickens out for the day! We have had a hen sitting on eggs. They have all developed well and we candled them a few days ago to check their development. She has not hatched before. The first of her clutch had hatched overnight. She has freaked out with movement under her bum. We found her standing in the corner of her pen glaring at the layer box with a look of fear. The chick that hatched was dead and the eggs were cold but some peeping. We took them to the house and popped them into our spare incubator. 20 minutes later this little guy hatched! Yay! Fingers crossed the rest make it too!
