25.01.2022 As the sun goes down on a beautiful day of measuring eye muscle, fat and scrotum circumference! Rams seperated and off to join our goat does for a couple of days before heading out with the big boys early next week!

23.01.2022 Hay hay hay! Love the smell of freshly baled oaten hay. Gets me every day I walk outside. A smell like no other. Bliss 150 bales and counting. This week Rob and I decided to also bale half of our front paddock. Lovely Rye Grass hay. A bumper year. Yahoo! ... #hayspam #wildandfree #hay2020 #oatcrop See more

23.01.2022 Just checking our rams in friendship jail as they learn to all get along again after being taken out from their ewe groups. We wait until they start laying down for extended periods. Then we know they are freinds again... and aren't going to kill each other once out of friendship jail and back in a wide open paddock! Not ready boys. Not ready! Happy jousting boys! See you after the sunrise!

22.01.2022 Our morning ritual at the moment! The brush! The girls just love our Dora! She is in diet jail! Springtime for her means getting fed everyday and being kept off the grass as much as possible. While the rest of the horses are down the back as fat as mud! #farminglife #kidsloveponies #dora

20.01.2022 First jar of liquid gold it's just amazing #wildandfree #farminglife

18.01.2022 And just like that our longest serving WWOOFER is gone. Thanks and enjoy the rest of your travels Emil. We miss you everyday! Emil came to stay with us when covid hit as he, like many backpackers became a bit stuck! He stayed with us for 6mths volunteering on our farm and learning lots and lots of new skills. For us, lots of jobs done and off the list. For him, life changing skills. #wwoof #farminglife #manythanks #farmhand

17.01.2022 The last kid. And just like that we are all smiling ear to ear. Lambing and kidding all done for 2020. Hooray we cry. A happy healthy cross bred boer buckling out of a doe a good friend gave us. #boergoat #kidding2020 #farminglife #farmkids

16.01.2022 Our gorgeous little Bonnie having a cool off after a long run on a warm autumn day! Bless her. She is such a treasure. Enjoy your dip BonBon. #wildandfree #grandenpark #farminglife #terriersofinstagram #terriermix

15.01.2022 The biggest Granden Park egg ever. One of pur broiler (meat) birds lay this today. Wow. Ouch. Yeicks. How many yolks will be inside? 141g of pure massive eggy goodness. The average egg is 65-70g. She often lays big ones but this is off the chart. #chickensofinstagram #biggesteggever #wildandfree #broilerchickens

13.01.2022 This is Greta, or Crazy Goat as we now call her. She was dumped at our farm gate last Friday morning. She has settled into life here pretty well. She hips, hops and bops around with the kids during the day. The kids were having some mid kitchen play time with her helping! #crazygoat #farminglife #farmkids

11.01.2022 Today Rob and I did a massive 13 hour round trip drive to buy a new Suffolk stud ram. We headed to one of Australia's most renowned breeders, Deppler. We chose a lovely new man to compliment our girls. He wasn't the biggest or the prettiest ram, but he is super duper practical. Gorgeous style with a nice solid thick frame, exceptional bum (most important), good doer, quiet and just a bit smaller. This will definaltey make our shearer's and butcher a bit happier. As we go o...n our journey breeding sheep both White and Black Suffolks we read, listen and learn and make decisions that are best practise for our stud. We really love a sheep that is a solid framed, super tough, a good doer, produces twins every year with exceptional mothering, fast growing, good worm resistance and gut function, quiet and easy to manage and overall a good business investment. At the end of the day we run a business. Input must be as little as possible and output exactly what the market desires. We also want it to be as easy as possible. We don't want much! Our new ram is a big tick in the right direction for our stud. We are really looking forward to using him in 2021. Our new White suffolk ram is very much the same style and we loved his progeny this year! They are growing out just perfectly. Plenty of 'ram spam' to come! Sorry, not sorry! Now just to choose a name! So far we have had/have Gravy Grange Granite Gonzo Porky Jnr (he came with the name!) So needing a new G name! Any suggestions? Why G. Granden Park of course!

09.01.2022 We are loving seeing our little crop of oates starting to seed. Hay time is getting closer! This is the first time that we are doing hay and we are very excited! We estimate we will get between 2000 and 3000 small bales. We might just have to do a few rounds just so it is a little less work. Hopefully lots of people need hay this year! #cropping2020 #oates #farminglife

06.01.2022 The magical first feed of the first kids of the season by a maiden doe we bred. A wondeful mother. A wonderful feeling when we all get it right! Right breeding. Right selection. Let it be a fabulous start to kidding down our boar goats in 2021.

06.01.2022 Amd then there was just one more little surprise. This is one of our first cross ewes that was a poddy last year. We kept her as she is so nice and quiet but not too annoying. She was running with our very valuable ram as a buddy but he didn't like her much. So we thought! Oops. He liked her a little at the right time. And that is our last lamb for the season... definitely... A healthy little mixed bred, 3/4 suffolk 1/4 merino ram lamb. With one very amazing mumma. She is doing an absolutely amazing job! #lambing2020 #secondcross #farminglife

05.01.2022 Pretty excited to get another hatch of fertilized broiler eggs into the incubator. 20 this time! The last batch are due to start hatching this week. 15 viable from 24 isn't too bad for an first hatch. Our rooster can only be left with the girls overnight then he goes back to the main house to eat. They are on a super restrictive diet or they can't walk and stop laying. Literally. Not a well designed chook. These are commercial broiler table birds) crossed with an Orphington... rooster (also a table bird). They are big, fat and hopefully produce tasty chicken meat for our family! Watch this space! #farminglife #grandenpark #broilerbird #selfsusstainable See more

05.01.2022 Some of our beautiful Suffolk and White Suffolk 14mth old rams that will be offered for sale in coming weeks getting their poses on. Looking gorgeous boys. #suffolksheepsociety #lambing 2019 #whitesuffolk #suffolk #wildandfree #farminglife

04.01.2022 They look small from a distance! Lizzie and Annie enjoying the view! #oatenhay2020 #wildandfree #farminglife

04.01.2022 That's what we want to hear. 11 out of 12 is the best result! Great work girls!!! Another happy hatcher!

02.01.2022 Growing lots of veggies this year! Yummo! Loving our wicking beds! Making light work of it. Looking forward to our daily harvesting soon! #wildandfree #wickingbed #veggies #farminglife

02.01.2022 The orchard is really kicking off! Flowers. Almonds. Looking forward to a bumper crop! This year our orchard is 4 years old! But we are still adding to it. New 5 Crown apple trees this year. Our favourites! Also blueberry, silvanberry and raspberry. #farminglife #selfsufficient #orchard

01.01.2022 Still sending out a dozen fertilized eggs a day! Since covid hit we have sold a dozen fertilized eggs each day for hatching! It is so wonderful that people are thinking about where their food comes from and are enjoying the simple things in life. Chooks are the best! #farminglife #hatchingeggs #hatchingchicks #fertilizedeggs
