24.01.2022 A gorgeous rose bush planted as a tribute to the greatest mare ever, Black Caviar, has started to bloom in the Grand garden. It flowers every year just before Cup day. Congratulations also to young Lachy King who won the Derby on the weekend. He is well known and loved by the Grand. Well done.

22.01.2022 What colour is this fence? It is not green. It has taken over 12 months to paint and is finally complete. The original paint had to be blasted off with special stripping chemicals. In the process real bronze fixtures were discovered. The fixtures must have been imported from Europe in the early 1900s when the building was constructed. The original bronze had been painted over and no one knew of its existence until now. Thanks to Heritage Victoria for their support and thanks to Wrought Iron Renovators for their endurance. If you guessed green as the colour you are only half right. The official colour is Brunswick Green and was very common in the early 1900s for official buildings.
