25.01.2022 In an ordinary non COVID-19 year, we would have our Kindergarten graduation celebration as part of our end of year party - but not this year! Instead, we will host a graduation celebration for the children leaving us to start prep in 2021 on Friday 11th December at 4pm. Please mark it in your diary and swing a hour or two off work if you can to share this important milestone with your child. We anticipate we will be finished by 5pm and all the same, wonderful elements we n...ormally have still be happening . . . the goodbye walk, certificates, Going to Big School books and cake! Of course, the majority of our Scrub Turkey children will be not finishing up with us until mid-January, but it is always nice to do this in December to accommodate those families who are moving away, or taking a big break before school commences. Any questions, please don't hesitate to give us a call! See more

24.01.2022 Lest We Forget . . . whether we are up early for dawn service on our driveways, or choose to remember and give thanks later in the day, 2020 will always be an Anzac Day to remember!

23.01.2022 So much hard work has gone into this little exhibition.

23.01.2022 Oh no we have our first mandatory mask wearing period!! From 5pm today until 5pm Thursday, whenever you are indoors or can’t socially distance outdoors you are required to wear a mask. If you are a working parent and missed the mad crazy rush on masks, please call ahead and we will walk you through options to help you! Jane will be here from 5pm to 6pm today to help facilitate the pick up process . . . we’ve got you COVID! From 6:30am tomorrow morning we will re-commence temperature checking at the gate . . . if your child or you are unwell or have any symptoms of COVID, you are required to stay at home (consider it an early start to the Easter break . . .). any queries, please don’t hesitate to call . . . and here’s hoping its just a 3 day gig and we can all go and do our Easter activities as planned!

23.01.2022 First 5 Forever are fabulous; whether you have a baby or a Kindy Kid!

21.01.2022 Mothers Day Home High Tea - tomorrow!! Don't miss this much loved event . . . true, you can't come and socialise with all of our Grandma's Place family mums, but you can still enjoy the delicious, home-made treats that are a hallmark of our annual High Tea! Chef Kym has created mouthwatering salted caramel tarts, Chef Jan has whipping up these delicate cupcakes, with the lovely LOVE hearts made by our Miss Jenny M (Kakes by the Ocean) and Judy has been filling the profiter...oles. And just wait to see the extra surprise that Miss Amber has prepared for you all! EEeeee . . . can't wait! Tomorrow. We have prepped enough for everyone, so don't miss out . . . just pop in if its not your day, or alternatively call ahead and we can do a contactless pickup at the back gate :). p.s. Lovely T2 tea bags to go or alternatively Miss Sarah will make you an awesome take-away coffee from 6:30am, all part of the Grandma's Place Mother's Day experience. With love, from us to you See more

21.01.2022 Jack has been a part of Grandma's Place family over the years, most recently at our end of year celebration in 2019. Awesome single Jack, delighted to see you releasing your own music - wishing you every success!

20.01.2022 Have you lodged your tax return for 2018/2019? If not, get it in quick to avoid losing your CCS!! Under Child Care Subsidy regulations, you are required to confirm your income for the 2018/2019 financial year urgently if you haven't already do so - whether that is lodging your tax return or lodging an 'Advise non-lodgement of tax return' with Centrelink. If you don't do this before the 30th June, you will lose your CCS from July - oh no! So if you have your own business and ...your accountant is yet to lodge your tax return, you have a few weeks to get that sorted . . . Please note that this is the year that finished June 2019, not the current financial year. If you have any queries, please don't hesitate to give us a call!

20.01.2022 We are delighted to be hosting our annual High Tea in celebration of mothers day, on Friday 7th May. It is usually a lovely morning of meeting new friends or connecting with old ones and the chefs make a beautiful high tea for you - what's not to love?! For catering purposes, please RSVP on the sheets in the entry area and if you have any queries, please don't hesitate to pop in or call to ask!

19.01.2022 Part of what we hold near and dear at Grandma's Place is training the next generation of Educators; so looking forward to inviting a trainee to join our team, ready for the 2021 Grandma's Place children!

19.01.2022 If you want a mask with a little more style than disposable surgical masks, these are gorgeous (and made by one of our lovely mums)

17.01.2022 Wishing all our fabulous mums, step mums, grandmas, nans, aunts, foster mums and other significant women in our children's lives a beautiful Mother's Day! This year, more than most, we surely will value the opportunity to celebrate together!

15.01.2022 Did you know that there are fairies living in the big fig tree? One of our Kindergarten children told me, "you see the glitter around the door, that's from their wings as they go in and out, and then they go into the shell ball from inside the tree" A little piece of magic . . . has your child discovered where the fairies live yet?

14.01.2022 Eeee - tomorrow is your children’s exhibition Digital Nature!!! Here’s a sneak peak - I if you haven’t booked a ticket yet, there’s still time on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons! You could turn it into a lovely outing exhibition followed by an ice cream at Third Ground!!

13.01.2022 Here is one of the projections from the children's Digital Nature exhibition, which closed this week. This projection includes two works. The first is revisiting the dreamtime story Warnayarra the Rainbow Snake, which the Kindergarten children had recreated and illustrated earlier in the year. Working with Artist Donna Maree Robinson, the children created their own animation using the iMotion app and their earlier created drawings and narrated by one of our school age chil...dren. The second part also utilised iMotion app to capture the building and exploration of mandalas with natural materials. Mandalas are an ancient meditative symbol that reveals the underlying connectedness of nature and are found across many cultures throughout time. It was such a delight to share the exhibition with all the families over the weekend and the children during the first half of this week . . . we hope you loved this experience too! See more

12.01.2022 As we sit in Queensland and thank the universe that we are not in Victoria's position, we need to also be mindful that we could be - very easily. I know that many in our community are feeling COVID-19 fatigued and perhaps your vigilance around safe practices may have lapsed. Here's your gentle reminder: 1) please ensure that you and your children remain at home if displaying any symptoms as per COVID19 symptom chart from the Australian Government, 2) please remember social... distancing in entry zone (some crosses on the ground to help you and beautiful flowers to admire now while you wait!), and 3) please ensure that you and your children are hand sanitising on the way in. Most of you will have met the wonderful Mrs Marsh (Colleen) by now, who has taken over temperature checking and receiving all of our wonderful families each morning and some afternoons. We have asked you and overwhelming our families agree that temp checking helps keep us all well, so we will continue this practice for the time being. We know that at peak drop off times there can be a short wait and we thank you for your patience. Any queries on whether your child is well enough to attend Grandma's Place, please call ahead to discuss with Caroline or Katie.

11.01.2022 As you many be aware, the Federal Government has mandated that there are no gap fees until Friday 26th June 2020, so you have another 7 weeks of not having to pay fees! Many families who have no changes to their employment are taking the opportunity to get ahead on their fees to ease the shock of returning to fee paying in July. If you would like to do this too and need a hand to set it up, please don’t hesitate to give us a call .

11.01.2022 Okay, we have 20 gift boxes left . . . if you haven't been in yet, you still have a hour or two to pop in and collect these gorgeous boxes of deliciousness (I just sampled one, bellisimo!). We can meet you at the back gate with a fresh coffee and a gift box to minimise your contact, just call ahead!

07.01.2022 to all our dads, granddads, stepdads, foster dads and other significant men in the lives of our children - Happy Father's Day! May the kids spoil you, may you delight in their company today . . . and may you get to watch the Cowboys win tonight (amen!).

07.01.2022 Great post to share with you all over you morning coffee

06.01.2022 Under 8s day is always an important event on the Grandma's Place calender. While we only celebrated with the children in attendance at Grandma's Place rather than everyone enrolled, it was still a joy-filled, magical morning of learning and exploring. For families, you have been emailed a link to watch the video of the day - something to enjoy over a cuppa!

06.01.2022 It's all about the care factor . . . The fabulous Caroline Fewster has been our guiding light as our mentor at Grandma's Place for over 5 years, travelling up from the Gold Coast several times a year to inspire us and guide us. Caroline has been forced to quarantine during this COVID-19 period, but has been in regular contact with us to help us through this challenging time. A beautiful package of Care Bags arrived in the mail this week, one especially prepared for each team member. Thanks Caroline for continuing to support us; we can't wait until you can fly up and join us all again!

03.01.2022 There is always something special about Kindergarten graduation. Sweet to celebrate the achievements of a wonderful group of children how amazing were those three songs sung across three languages?! Sad to be saying goodbye, sometimes to families that have been with us for the best part of a decade (but we will still see most of you next week!). Proud of the learning packed year the wonderful Kindergarten team created, despite the challenges COVID threw at us. All those... beautiful group collaborative works of art were very special to share and we know they will be valued by the lucky winners. Thank you to Jenny, Kakes By the Ocean for another amazing cake; bellisimo. Thank you to all our families for making this important milestone special by being with us and your child yesterday afternoon, it really was a delightful way to celebrate, especially in this crazy 2020 year! 03.01.2022 Extra two weeks of no gap fees! As I am sure you have heard on the news, the Federal Government has extended the period to 12th July where there are no fees for you to pay - wahoo! From the week commencing 13th July you will return to normal fees (payment for this week is due by Fri 24th July). Any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to call us :) It is important that you make sure your details with Centrelink are up to date (including income estimate for 20/21 year) and any changes to meeting the activity test. If you have lost work during this COVID-19 journey, there are additional concessions and some great programmes you can access - just give us a call and we can assist you :).

03.01.2022 We look forward to welcoming back lots of children and families next week! Some families are electing to continue self isolating until their primary children return to school on the 25th May and we know that some families will continue to chose to self isolate indefinitely; we fully support you family’s choices through this on-going COVID-19 thing, whatever they may be! If there is any way we can better support you, please don’t hesitate to give us a call . . . we all are h...aving such different journeys, so don’t be afraid to reach out to us . While we are all looking forward to getting back to some semblance of ‘normal’, this is not the time for complacency. We continue all of our health and safety measures and we thank you for ensuring that you continue sanitising on entry, presenting for temperature checks and ensuring anyone unwell remains away from Grandma’s Place. See more

03.01.2022 Tomorrow night! hot date night if you forgot to organise something for Valentine's Day today . . .

03.01.2022 Beautiful post, words from a wise woman

02.01.2022 Exciting news below! The Grandma's Place team will feature in an upcoming Department of Education promotion. Here is a link to some examples from past campaigns, so you have a bit of an idea of what the final product will be like . . .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8jvIm4jnpw... The focus of this campaign is around rural and remote services and promoting early childhood teaching as a great career option for school leavers in these communities, and to entice early educator...s to relocate to rural and remote communities. Families, please see your email for news item with more details and consent forms so we can include your child too! Eeeeeeek - how brilliant is this to celebrate this awesome team :)

02.01.2022 One of our families' favourite events is Father's Day Breakfast - a tradition since 2009. In an upside down COVID19 year, we can't turn our back patio into a pop up cafe, but that doesn't mean our Dad's miss out on a gorgeous brekky! Simply order before next Tuesday, 1st September and our chefs will have a wonderful take to work/take home brekky and cappuccino for you to enjoy . . . see you next Friday morning :)

01.01.2022 Ooooh . . . . I wonder what these could be?! For those families who are staying at home, stay tuned!!

01.01.2022 Guess who made a surprise visit today??!! it just wouldn't be the week before christmas without him . . . so delighted he could find some time to visit us:)
