18.01.2022 Grandma to the Rescue just got the best Christmas present ever [you might say all her Christmases came at once]. When she delivered copies of GTR books to the Northern Beaches Hospital this morning the reaction and comments from the Reception lady and nursing staff in the children's ward were wonderful and they were most appreciative. And, for once, GTR's timing was perfect as Santa is calling in to see the children today and give them their presents. The Reception lady liked the books and asked if she could also have a copy for her grandson so, of course, GTR obliged. Their reaction - priceless. It doesn't get any better than this except when I get kisses, cuddles and hugs from GTR's own grandchildren. Gotta love that!!! Merry Christmas everyone x

To those who are suffering - we stand by you A MESSAGE TO SANTA Can you please give Santa Claus a message Can you ask him not to call on Christmas night I really would like to see him ... But somehow, it wouldn't be quite right It's been hard this year, on our farm And the droughts (and fires) are not over yet Our water is gone, and it still won't rain Dad said this is as bad as it can get The crops we planted have blown away And most of our sheep (and cattle) have died Last night Mum and Dad talked about Christmas Then Dad held her while she cried "We'll make it through" he told her "Somehow we'll find a way" Quietly I went up to my room Her tears left nothing else to say So if you can hear me Santa Can you pass us by this year I've got my dog, my Mum and my Dad And we've all got hope to share I know when times are good again You'll call around once more So can you just call on those who need you most Like the lonely and the poor And when it finally rains again And all our crops are tall and green Can you please visit like you used to For the best Christmas ever seen See more
14.01.2022 Wishing all our farmers and firies bucket loads of rain in all the right places at Christmas time and beyond. So very much to thank you for and I hope those do ...nothing politicians start lifting and making sure farmers get the necessary grants [not loans] to help them get through this and that the volunteers [firies and others assisting in all sorts of wonderful ways] get grants to help pay their mortgages and something for their bank balances while they're not able to work at their paid jobs. Oh, and I hope the politicians stop talking about it as it's their money they are "granting" because it is the Australian people's money and I have not met one person who would begrudge this being done NOW! Stuff the deficit, provide the services. That's why we pay our taxes - to provide services and to help our fellow Australians. See more
14.01.2022 So pleased. Just heard that William Slim Drive in the ACT will be renamed. Now we just have to work on the other "dishonourables" after whom parks, centres and roads are named and have them changed, too. Well done ACT Government.
