24.01.2022 When you build confidence in people, great things happen! #leadership #leaders #leadershipdevelopment #hr

19.01.2022 We love a bit of creativity and there's no lack of problems to solve "creatively" in the #HR space. Tips for cultivating a creative team environment: 1. Ask for what you want. 2. Appreciate new ideas and broad perspectives. 3. Reward effort, not just success - the hard work is often in ‘doing’ the work, not the actual result. 4. Combine ideas and constraints - maybe there’s more than one solution!... 5. Start small - well-thought out small steps can lead to bigger longer-term results. 6. Don’t brainstorm - sometimes people are left out; rather, make sure ‘everyone’ gives their opinion. 7. Create space - give people time to be creative. #leadership #creativity #becreative #strategy #problemsolving

19.01.2022 Some valid points in this article, especially in our work spaces! We've become so reliant on technology, that it's easy to forget the 'personal' side of communication. We love the writer's last bit of advice - if you need to be direct, consider "chucking in an emoji to soften the blow"

17.01.2022 We love this bit of inspiration! #confidence #goals #hr #leadership

14.01.2022 The effects of isolation and working from home might last a little longer than the pandemic for some people. If you are working from home try and alternate between sitting/standing during the day; take a few breaks from your office/desk space and walk around; don't eat too much junk; get some sunlight to boost your vitamin D and exercise to help the brain work better.

14.01.2022 Kim Wallace Ceramics has an opening for a Customer Relations & Social Media Coordinator. This is a new role, based in their boutique ceramics studio in Noosaville on the Sunshine Coast. It's a creative, fun working environment with flexible work arrangements.

12.01.2022 Some valuable advice if you're planning a change in job/career. How do you know if you have stayed too long in a job?

12.01.2022 Our range of skills is broader than we think. We've spoken with many people this year who were forced to look at alternative jobs and industries due to the pandemic and ended up happier with their chosen new jobs and careers. Where can your strengths take you? #career #careergoals #job #jobsearch #changeyourlife #behappy #hr

11.01.2022 Feeling a bit of procrastination on a Monday...at least there's Tuesday! #motivation #hr #work #achieve

11.01.2022 In the last six months we have seen an increase in requests to review and update employment contracts. Some cases have resulted in a complete re-draft due to very outdated content and archaic templates. Are your employment contracts fit for purpose and do they cover the right terms/conditions?

09.01.2022 Here's some more on the WorkPac ruling we updated you on about a month ago... WorkPac has now launched a High Court challenge, so we'll wait for the outcome to see if it's to be upheld. The result could have a major impact on employers of casual staff. Previously, the Federal Court's decision shed more light on the "essence of casualness where employment is concerned. At that time, it was determined that "...a casual employee is someone whose work is inconsistent, irregular ...or short term, and casual employees whose work doesn’t fit that description can now make a claim that they are (and have been) a permanent employee, and are therefore owed the appropriate entitlements." This left open the question - 'Should some casual employees therefore receive the same entitlements as a permanent employee...and still keep their casual loading if they are due a back-pay?' #hr #humanresources #employment #smallbusiness #business

04.01.2022 We can get stuck thinking ‘everything is urgent’!! Aim for three main priorities a day, you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve when you focus on smaller chunks of work. And...try to balance out the ‘to-do’ list with a 'stop-doing' list. If something’s not urgent or important, can you bin it?? #hr #leadership #timemanagement #priorities

02.01.2022 One interview question we should confidently be able to answer, but for some reason find it the most challenging"Tell me a little about yourself" #interviewtips #jobinterview #hr #employment

02.01.2022 The Federal Government has announced the JobKeeper wage subsidy will be extended until March 2021 for eligible employers. ‘JobKeeper 2.0’ payments from 28 September will be tiered (high and low) and determined by the hours employees were working in the four weekly pay periods ending before 1 March 2020. High Tier - Employee must have worked 20 hours or more per week - will be allocated $1,200 per fortnight until 3 January, 2021 and then $1,000 until the 28 March. Low Tier - E...mployee has worked less than 20 hours per week - will be allocated $750 per fortnight until 3 January, 2021 and then $650 until the 28 March. Business turnover rates and the criteria making an employee eligible for JobKeeper has not changed. Though, businesses must have evidence that their turnover remains below the threshold in the relevant quarters ending June and September. Businesses not currently receiving JobKeeper payments can apply for JobKeeper 2.0.
