18.01.2022 DROUGHT - Ugly word, but still a reality for residents on the Granite Belt. Whilst Covid May be the hot topic in the media, there are still some groups who haven’t forgotten our harsh reality. Over the weekend the ‘Water Team 2020’ from the Mt Gravatt Centrelink office made a return visit to the Granite with over 2000 litres of bottled water for us - and there is more to come. What an awesome effort guys. And to top it off Kennards Hire donated the truck and trailer. It just goes to show, even in the middle of a pandemic, there are people whose kindness knows no boundaries. KINDNESS, IT COST NOTHING, BUT IT MEANS EVERYTHING.
14.01.2022 Craig and his team spent a full afternoon with us back in November, so it will be interesting to see what they used and how they tied our charity into their series. Maybe a good reminder to people that our drought is far from over.
13.01.2022 HOW ABOUT THESE GUYS. Granite Belt Cider Co - Treehouse Cider must be mind readers. With donations at an all time low, they swooped in on their white horse and saved the day. The team at Stone & Wood Brewing have been hit by the Covid recession, like so many other companies across our country, but they still managed to dig deep and continue their assistance to the rural residents on the Granite Belt. Thank you James, Pat and team....your donation means more than you could possibly know and enables us to continue providing a hand up to those who need it.
11.01.2022 Due to unforeseen circumstances, Granite Belt Water Relief will not be open this morning or Wednesday. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but some things are just out of our control.
03.01.2022 So many behind the scenes activity happening at GBWR at the moment, but we are saving that for some breaking news in the next few weeks. Today, for us, it is more important to honour some very special people in our lives - We are blessed at Granite Belt Water Relief to have some of the best Dads, Grandads and stand up men who volunteer their time each and every week. To those outstanding men and the outstanding men in the broader community, who always have the courage to stand up and do what is right for their families - a very happy Father’s Day.
03.01.2022 Back when we were trying to get the word out about Granite Belt Water Relief we filmed a very short video that was, to say the very least, a mess. When we contacted Stephen Osbourne and told him what we were trying to do, he asked us to send through all the videos and he would try to do his best for us. He explained how much the Granite Belt meant to him and how he would do anything for this region. And he delivered (and trust me, what we sent would have made him cry). Our little video was shared time and time again and we truly owe him a huge debt. Best of luck with your world premiere Stephen....you deserve all the accolades under the sun.
