25.01.2022 Shopping locally is what keeps our small businesses alive and thriving. I believe that Council should be shopping locally wherever possible. Sometimes it is i...nevitable that some items may have to be sourced outside the region, but as a council, our first call or visit should ALWAYS be to a local business. Council should always want to lead by example. Local business needs to be encouraged and supported to prosper and grow. Business should never be stifled by conflicting rules and laborious red tape. This issue is one that, if elected I will be asking for a full review. Too many businesses in this region are hurt and held back when trying to expand. Of course, there are rules and regulations that must be adhered to, but there are many items council can look at to make the whole process smoother. Another area that needs attention is the tender process. No business should have to hire someone with a PHD to fill out a tender application. We should be pulling out all the stops to help our local business community and it starts with a very simple question how can we help you? See more

22.01.2022 Its been suggested by one of the Mayors die hard fans that the Association may be biased. Being that the title says "Granite Belt" we have chosen to primarily support new candidates from the "Granite Belt" because the current encumbants but one have shown over several years exactly how they feel about the people of the Granite Belt. We have also chosen a select few from the Warwick area because they have been supportive of the Association and the Granite Belt Region and it's right to lobby on behalf of the people of the Granite Belt. We have been very quiet leading up to the election. But some wish to be aggressive and defamatory. Hopefully people can see through these charades.
