Recent rains have transformed this farming district into a sea of green and yellow as canola flowers flourish. The Gawler Ranges National Park is also brimming with kangaroos, emus and the odd wombat whilst wildflowers begin to emerge. The scenic locations of Kolay Mirica Falls and Policeman's Point are running water. Tadpoles occupy many granite rock pools.... The Park is parched for a large portion of the year. 04.01.2022 The Mount Wudinna Recreation Reserve will be CLOSED from Monday, 22 March 2021 for at least one month to allow for major earthwork and building works to be und...ertaken. The reserve is planned to be open on the Easter long weekend to allow for public access over this busy period - we will keep you updated on this. Works in this part of the project will include pathway and road refurbishment, car park works as well as refurbishment of the toilets and shelter facilities. Other works planned for this project include installation of new park furniture such as seats, tables, fire pits, walking track information pods directional signage and new walking track interpretive signage. These upgrade works are funded as part of the Federal Government, Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Funding Program and are being coordinated by Wudinna District Council.
