13.01.2022 Thank you Val Wilkinson As we look forward to travel restrictions being lifted in the next couple of weeks, many of us will be eagerly anticipating trips away from what have become tediously familiar surroundings. For those of you keen to go somewhere with relatively few humans about, be assured Australia has a long list of fantastic national parks waiting for you to explore, safely. And the (mostly small rural) townships you will pass through to reach your chosen destinat...ion will be grateful for your patronage, so travel light and spend up big . . . as big as you can afford. The only decision you need to make is which direction to head: inland, to the coast, up a mountain, deep into a forest or way, way outback. To help with that decision, over the next few months I'll post albums and short videos of some more of the stunning National Parks I spent a decade exploring, photographing and painting. Yeah, I know, a truly dirty, difficult and dreary job but someone had to volunteer to do it. Those of you too impatient to wait for me to create new albums and videos can start your research by checking out those posted before COVID-19 derailed my good intentions to only ever do posts about our phenomenal parks and glorious wildlife. HINT: quickest way to locate them is via 'albums' and 'videos'. found under 'SEE ALL PHOTOS'. Enjoy these images of the Mareeba Unadorned Rock Wallaby first though. These cuties were all photographed at Granite Gorge Nature Park, near Mareeba in Queensland. Borders aren't open yet, but when they are . . . hop across the Qld one and go say hello to these sweet little wallabies for me, okay? They hang out in a truly awesome gorge you'll have fun exploring. Cool river runs through the gorge as well. I spent a LOT of time in it back in 2016 when these photos were taken. #granitegorgenaturepark #rockwallaby #mareebaunadornedrockwallaby #campsqueensland #mareebatourismdestinations
