20.01.2022 Our friend Christian Li, a remarkable young violinist, playing this delightful duet with the Brandenburg Orchestra's Shaun Chen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awLMwmf4ZOA

18.01.2022 We are expecting a shipment of new European made instruments to arrive any day now ... violins, violas and cellos ... watch this space!! ... the instruments have now arrived but, sadly, some of them suffered minor heat damage to the varnish during transit so there will be a delay until we rectify the situation.

17.01.2022 Learning a skill such as playing the violin helps kids learn better, and provides a 'full-brain' workout. But let's not forget that it also 'has the incredible advantage of making children better at music, a skill that opens up a lifetime of enjoyment.' :) https://www.abc.net.au//does-music-really-make-ki/12645682

16.01.2022 Molly, Elizabeth and Caroline of Sutherland Trio are truly excited to be presenting their concert, Making Angels, to a live concert hall audience as well as a digital one next week at the Melbourne Digital Concert Hall on Wednesday April 21 at 8.30pm! Please go along either in person or digitally to listen to the stunning music of Mozart, Ravel and Katie Abbott. Tickets can be purchased here: https://melbournedigitalconcerthall.com/sutherland-trio-ma/ Like us all, after la...st year, they are even more thrilled and excited to be performing again, and especially appreciate everyone’s help and support during the past year. Thank you for helping them to Make Angels!

14.01.2022 Just a reminder that although the shop is closed, we are still able to send you postal orders, and carry out repairs and rehairs if you send your instrument or bow to us. You can order accessories such as strings and shoulder rests through our website - or call or email to discuss other needs. And our free rehair offer is still continuing, for a musician or student whose income has been affected by the pandemic - available to the first person who requests it each week. Hopefully we will be able to see you all again before too long!

13.01.2022 The Easter break is nearly here. We will be closed for the four public holidays from this Friday, 2 April and will re-open on Tuesday 6 April 2021. Hope you all have a safe and enjoyable break before the bleak winter months set in!

11.01.2022 Shop violin update: here is the newly made mould, which will serve as the template around which the ribs of the violin will be constructed.

08.01.2022 As a rule we are no longer wearing masks in the store but should you wish us to ‘mask up’, please ask us and we will be happy to put a mask on. We are continuing to work to an appointment system so don’t forget to give us a call or drop us an email to make a time, and we look forward to seeing you soon! Our free bow rehair offer has now come to an end. Thanks to everyone who took advantage of this service and we hope it helped to see you through the challenging days of COVID lock down. Take care and continue taking precautions.

02.01.2022 We are enjoying getting back to normal after the long holiday weekend and with lots of visitors to the shop of special note today, in addition to his violin, we received a new 15 1/2 viola by Rainer Beilharz as well as his latest cello all are fantastic and ready for players to book an appointment to try them out.
