Within just a 500 metre radius of Clyde Station there were in fact 10 grounds: Clyde Oval,... Chlorination Grounds, Brunton’s Paddock, Clyde Engineering Oval, Marsh’s Ground, Harvey’s Ground, Granville Show Ground, Kendall Street Paddock A’Beckett Street Ground & MacArthur Park (now Garside Park) Today only Granville Show Ground and Garside Park exist with Garside Park remaining as the sole and last ground used for soccer.

This is William ‘Bill’ Dane, member of the powerhouse all conquering 1914-1916 Granville Magpies team. He was another teammate of John Cottam who joined the war effort and served his nation.
