25.01.2022 A very sad post from us today: A photo of my beautiful Grassbrook Shahbanu (Sheba) as a foal. This gorgeous miss suffered an accident based injury and was euthanised yesterday, exactly 2 months shy of her 4th birthday. As difficult as it was, that was followed by an autopsy/dissection by a leading equine researcher. The dissection showed a cervical spine crack fracture in a vertebra, resulting in many, many difficulties for Sheba- from degrading joint cartilage from incorrec...t weight bearing from the fracture, an over-production of cortisol to help heal, massive amounts of inflammation throughout her body, and encroaching laminitis... There were some exciting discoveries, and some very sad discoveries; and all of them showing just how amazing horses are, but in particular, how amazing a Waler is. Normally, I wouldn't post something like this, but she truly blew my mind... Vale, my beautiful, sweetheart girl.

23.01.2022 Little ride out today, with Mali (remember Ned?, well his owner is over for a visit and we took out Legend and Seraphina for a short ride. Lovely day, but definately a reminder that the horses have access to way to much fresh feed and though they behaved very well, the roundness of them certainly highlighted that they were less that hill-ride conditioned! Pics taken by Mail, of myself and Seraphina (isn’t she gorgeous).

17.01.2022 Found this one within one of the videos Willa took. Will be working on slowing down Seraphinas' gaits, to get her more relaxed- she works nice and straight for me, and focuses really well to work with me, rather than for me, but we just need to get some rhythm synced, so we get some nice, slow, 4beat canters. Got some slowed, steady trots, which was nice, and she's got a phenomenal extended trot too! (She pulls that one out of the hat before I manage to get a solid canter). 09.01.2022 So...WINNER of the guessing comp was Michelle Phinn.. Tracks belong to my antique pride and joy...... Lots of people got "wagon" or "horse thing" or cart... so the edit asked for some refining of the answers, but Michelle was all over it, within an hour of the post going up. 09.01.2022 Another gelding taking a saddle very matter of factly, today. Grassbrook Tai Lyman, saddling, bitting, and starting to work off a bit. A shout-out to the offsider I've had for the week, helping keep things ticking along at double speed, with the pretty big workload I have atm- we currently are rugging and handfeeding 7 horses twice daily, administering medication to 2, bandaging one now, and I'm only getting ridden work done once every 3 or 4 days due to the overall load. 05.01.2022 Another big day in beautiful sunshine Big hill ride with Willa and Eliana, on Ketana and Shadrach, respectively... I took out Seraphina out, which was her first decent, real ride in well over 2 years, nor have I ever paddock trailed her..I'm trying to get some work in on her, so I have "my" horse... I haven't had a "my" horse for many years...and she is a bit of a special young mare, ticking lots of my preference boxes .. Concluding the day, Shadrach headed to his new home this afternoon, with the Faulkses *Willa tells me that she did 24klms accoding to her EquiTracker- I would not have, as I did not charge ahead or double back like she did
