25.01.2022 *** ATTENTION BIG GRASSHOPPERS *** In light of the Prime Minister’s announcement earlier this week, sadly, all Grasshopper Soccer programs have been suspended until we are advised further. The health and safety of all Little & Big Grasshoppers and our staff is top priority. Our final session set for this weekend is cancelled and a credit will be applied towards next term once we are back up and running.... 21.01.2022 *** ATTENTION BIG GRASSHOPPERS *** This weekend will see the return of Grasshopper Soccer for Term 3, 2020. We are so excited that we are back and look forward to seeing you all.... To ensure we are all remaining safe & healthy during these times, it is important that measures are in place at all of our sessions to minimise any risk & to help stop the spread of COVID-19. What you can expect from us: * Every Grasshopper Soccer coach has undertaken the Infection Control Training - COVID-19 course to ensure there is a clear understanding of Covid Safe guidelines. * Hand sanitiser will be provided at every session and coaches will promote use at the start and finish of each session for all Big and Little Grasshoppers * Coaches will monitor and enforce social distancing requirements (1.5m). * Soap and paper towel will be available at all toilet facilities * Equipment will be cleaned and sanitised ready for each session. * Signs will be in place to reinforce Covid Safe guidelines. * Adjustments will be made to the Grasshopper Soccer program (including field sizes, ratio of children/m2, amendments to game rules). What we expect from you: * Please DO NOT attend a session if you or your child are displaying flu-like symptoms e.g. cough, sore throat, fever etc. * Where possible, ensure only 1 Big Grasshopper per Little Grasshopper is in attendance. * Maintain social distancing. * Clearly label any drink bottles and keep them close to avoid sharing. * Arrive close to the commencement time of your child’s session and wait at the entrance to be checked in. * Leave promptly following the completion of your child's session. * Follow any directions given by our coaches. Once again, we have been blown away by demand and the decision has been made to close enrolments for our Newcastle High School Pint Size program. BE QUICK! ... This is to allow Grasshopper Bec and Brent to be in attendance throughout the early weeks, to implement COVID-19 safety procedures ensuring our sessions comply with NSW Government requirements. ... Term 3 looks like it will be quite popular so we suggest you get in early! PLACES ARE LIMITED! Thank you for your patience and continued support during these difficult times. 17.01.2022 ***ATTENTION BIG GRASSHOPPERS*** Due to the amount of rain we've had since yesterday afternoon, the current conditions and the predicted weather forecast we have made the decision to postpone Term 3's start date for our Sunday sessions to next weekend (Sunday 2 August). Therfore, the final session for Term 3 will be 20 September. We are so disappointed but believe this is the best decision for the health and well being of all Little & Big Grasshoppers. ... 16.01.2022 We have been absolutely blown away with the interest in our Intro to Micro, Micro & Micro Plus sessions at Newcastle High School so much so that the decision has now been made to close enrolments for these 3 programs at this location - if you are interested in joining the fun in Term 4 you are still more than welcome to attend one of our other locations; Hillsborough Public School, Rutherford or Metford. 13.01.2022 ***SUNDAY 23 AUGUST 2020*** The weather certainly hasn’t played nice for us on a Sunday this term the August winds have got us again this week, so unfortunately, we will be cancelling today’s sessions. It is always an extremely hard decision to cancel a session but we do this for the safety of all Little & Big Grasshoppers.... As a makeup session is already scheduled for 27 September, we will pop a credit in our system towards Term 4 for any Little Grasshoppers who were supposed to be in attendance today. We know the sun is shining but we have had Grasshopper Brent out in the yard this morning with balls and cones flying everywhere... and that's just our backyard, both our Rutherford and Hillsborough locations are notorious for high winds on a "normal" day! We are planning to recommence Grasshopper Soccer in Term 3; from 25 July however, we are currently waiting on our school locations to get approval from the Government which we hope to get the green light this month. In the meantime, we would love to get an indication of how many Little Grasshoppers we may expect when we start back; to help us plan our safety procedures, staff etc....
