25.01.2022 Youve seen the Maree Angus Artist virtual tour, and now that were OPEN, why not check it out in real life?! Maree is exhibiting some of her greatest works and we, at the Grassland Art Gallery, are incredibly lucky that she has chosen our walls to hang them from. Her exhibition will be on display until July 24, 2020. Open Monday - Friday from 8:30am to 4:45pm... Please use appropriate social distancing and hand sanitizing facilities provided at our establishment.

18.01.2022 These ones were created by Stacey Ryrie! "My name is Stacey Ryrie, I grew up in country Victoria, moving to Tambo in 2004. I live on a cattle property with my husband Jock and three fun loving children, Georgia, Tom and Sophie. I fell in love with painting after completing my first acrylics workshop in 2009. I have since been encouraged to participate in more workshops over the years. ... One of my works, Bottle Tree is definitely inspired by my own backyard, after all who doesnt love a bottle tree on the horizon. My second piece, Banksia came about due to my love of flowers and bright colours, and my third the Guinea Fowls is influenced by familys fondness for our beloved Guinea Fowls that roam the paddock around our house yard and their quirky nature."

16.01.2022 These were painted by Wendy Keen! "I live 10km from Tambo in a little blue cottage on a cattle property. I love wide open spaces and the freedom that brings. This freedom also gives me mind space to let the creative juices flow. I have been experimenting with different methods, different tools and different mediums these past months, so much fun. Having lived at Yaraka for many years, she now Iives on a cattle property near Tambo. Also beautiful inspirational country. Cassie has used many different mediums, and is now loving Oils.... Cassie has successfully exhibited at Grasslands since the Gallery opened.

10.01.2022 Did you guess who our last artist was? If you guessed Pip Fearon, youd be correct! "Born & bred in the bush, I have always had a strong bond with and love for horses....and cattle and pretty well most animals! In 2014 I undertook a 3 day timber sculpture workshop in Mudgee. Suddenly the therapeutic, art thing clicked.....I was hooked and the rest is history. I enjoy making life size horses out of a local hardwood known as gidgee which I collect on our property near Tambo. I... also enjoy welding and making sculptures from old parts and recycled pieces that are a natural fit in country gardens. Im constantly in awe of nature and the simplicity of its raw beauty. I hope that whoever buys my sculptures gets as much joy from them as I get from making them." - Pip Fearon

Painted by a headstockman on one of our areas most prolific properties, Meanness was painted directly onto the wall of the staff living quarters. It was cut out of the building in 2016, and were lucky enough to be able to put it on display! ... Come and see it for yourself.

03.01.2022 Are you an arts worker or practitioner based in the Central West Queensland Region? The RAF want to help! The Regional Arts Fund (RAF) is an Australian Governme...nt program designed to benefit regional and remote arts practitioners, arts workers, audiences and communities. The fund is provided through Regional Arts Australia and is administered in Queensland by Flying Arts Alliance. The RAF are currently holding four workshop that aim to assist arts practitioners, arts workers and audiences in how to ensure the best success in your funding applications. Through these workshops, attendees will learn about; Funding streams: Outline of current RAF funding streams including Project Grants (PGs) and Quick Response Grants (QRGs) Application Assessment Criteria: How the application will be assessed. How to Apply: The online application process through SmartyGrants. Who is eligible: Which locations are classified as regional areas as defined by RAA. How to fill out the budget: This will be the most comprehensive component of the workshop, as this element of the process often presents challenges to applicants.
