Player 1 nudges the ball just backward of square and calls yes Player 2 calls wait Player 1 calls yes again, but stops running Player 2 calls no but keeps running Player 1 now calls no and turns to return to his crease Player 2 calls yes and runs to the same end as Player 1 Fielding team throw ball to non strikers end and complete run out. 14.01.2022 MORE LEAGUE AWARDS Here we have our under 15 awards which you will find towards the end of coach Greg Bulls speech that was to be read out on Friday night. Firstly I would like to thank Dewsy and the executives for giving me the opportunity to coach the leagues under 15s side, and apologize that I cant be there tonight. With a month old baby at home social outings are tough at the moment. its been a great pleasure and experience. Id also like to thank the WDCA for allowin...g us to enter a team in their competition. We had a great season even though we only came away with the one win we were very competitive in most games, playing against sides with older kids and more experience. Id like to thank my team managers Gary Meade and Trevor Dowd for looking after the kids in my absence on a few Friday nights. Also all the parents, Im extremely fortunate to have a great group of mums and dads that did an amazing job scoring, running the canteen at home games, washing the team shirts and umpiring where needed. The kids themselves I couldnt speak more highly of. We had a range of age groups from Max Gleeson and Jett Fleming who are still at Primary school to our leaders, captain Jye Ford and his vice captains Bailey Kelp and Evan porter. Training and game nights were fun and enjoyable and the kids all had the willingness to listen and learn. I probably didnt realise what a great group of kids and Parents we had until the tragic passing of Jyes father Quinn who was a former coach of many kids in this side at club level at Purnim, and also at league level taking them to Portland under 13 country week. The way the kids rallied together to support Jye and his family was something special, but its something Im not surprised by with the close nitt GCA group. We are lucky enough to have a bat and gloves sponsored by Dave Cranwell to present to some kids who this year I think have shown a great effort of learning, training and improving on their games, not just this season but over the last few that this group has been together. (Cricket bat) Cooper Elliot. Cooper has been playing for many seasons now and has always shown plenty of skill and enthusiasm, and has been rewarded with some A grade cricket this season. (Pads) Chelsea McCosh. Chelsea goes about her business very quietly but she has been a great asset to the team, being our highest wicket taker for the season. (Gloves) Harley Kelp. Always the first to training and a pleasure to coach, always talking in the field and the first to congratulate or give a team mate a needed pat on the back and has improved a hell of a lot this season. Thank you once again, and I hope to see all the kids back next season and for many after that.
