23.01.2022 Just a reminder that Grass Roots Movement is taking a hiatus for a while as I transition into a full time Personal Trainer career at EMF Performance and Recovery Centre in nerang....so no class tonight, or throughout June. MOBILITY. 5 each side. 90/90 switches with hands. Repeat. No hands. Repeat. Chest to lead knee. Short arms. Repeat. Long arms. Butterfly hip lifts. Pancake over head and fwd reaches. Pancake side bends. Look under armpit. Pancake chest to knee. Shift to kneeling 10 reps each Front foot stretch on fists Mini camel stretches Frogger push backs. Knee rock swivel facing forward Knee rock swivel with rotation. Lying on back. 10 baby tuck rolls. 10 kickbacks 5 each side. 10 falling pyramid knees. 5 each side. 10 T Wipers. Dive bomber spinal wave into Long cobra x 3 Straight bear walk into forward fold. Turn around. 4 x twisting bear into forward fold. Turn around. Frogger forward backward. 20.01.2022 Made this little diary of the progression my son has made over the past 8 weeks, as today he was back at school. With only 5-10mins of training every 2-3 days he didn’t feel pressured, in fact he would ask me When are we training next? So I kinda just spoon fed it, and now he has these tools for life. I will continue of course, but it’s pretty cool to see what tiny regular habits can do, especially for a young boy who is not far off his teenage years. Martial arts are a great vessel for physical, mental and spiritual growth.

19.01.2022 As my journey as a full time PT continues, I feel privileged to get to meet people who have such a high standard of quality training, when it comes to human movement patterns. Especially when it comes to taking a functional tool like a kettlebell and challenging not only your strength, cardio and co-ordination, but then putting all the components together to find YOUR flow. That’s quality training.

16.01.2022 Last day of my job here before full time PT at #emfnerang and thought I would catch one of my Movement play smoko sessions... in a spray paint booth.... on the ground. This is why I love my movement journey, it’s unpretty, uncoordinated, clunky .... similar to my journey in learning Te Reo Mori ( Mori Language).... but these are where the highest levels of learning moments actually take place. The body and mind say What?!?.. we are doing this now?!?! Movement is everywhere. You just need to look for it.

13.01.2022 Getting into some very slow FRC work to see where my hips are at first thing in the morning. This is no warm up or stretch. Just mindful activation and testing where I can and can’t go for now. Extending the front leg in my 90/90 is like a crawling zombie at this stage lol. But will try to improve it over time. Hips feel more soa ious after this.

09.01.2022 After a movement session with clients earlier, I have the option to sit with my kids and watch tv, or see if my daughter wants to move. With my daughter, I know she will follow for a little while, but eventually she will lead lol. I just want to move well, move playfully, and kids don’t think even have to think about it. 06.01.2022 The journey that we’ve had in the past 6 to 7 months has been quite enlightening for not only for Sean, but also myself. To find out what works for a client to get them to look at the bigger picture. Longevity. To take into account their relationships, their occupation, their way of thinking, the expectations of themselves, the expectations others may have of them.....are all factors which can affect how you actually perform in the gym or even at home for your workouts. Habi...ts like meditation,affirmations, water, sleep, even inner chatter.... are all things that contribute to the person we are before we even step into the gym. If you do not have the self-discipline to make consistent changes every day to live out your potential.
