09.01.2022 Great Advice Testimonial for sound service advice on behalf of an ungrateful customerRead on..... recently one of my regular customers came in with a Kia sportage, aproximately 2016 model with approximately 93000kms,model for a service. When booking in the car my customer Mrs X said that her children complained of a heavy bang noise in the rear of the car. I completed the service on the car which also had a noise of concern and decided to drain the rear differential oil on t...he car. What I found was large metallic fragments suggesting that the rear differential had an internal failure. I changed the differential oil and advised the customer of the concern and suggested she needs a new rear differential. What does that mean customers x said. I said well the car is at risk of failure and you need to repair the differential. So what does that mean.. Well I said you will not be taking the car on a long trip until you get the differential repaired. What do I do now she asked her male partner I’ve spent all his money on this car and now this is happened. He said well it has to be fixed. THIS IS WHERE MY PROFESSIONAL advice kicked in. Well ,I suggested your best option would be to ring Kia advise them what we found during the service and detailed it on your invoice however you are the second owner of the car and the car is out of new car warranty. Customer X said I’ll be ringing them and complaining and asking them or how this is happened? My professional advice to X is to use sugar rather than vinegar and call the Dealer and explain to them what has been found. Having worked a service manager at dealership and having much experience with warranty claims , I advised X that considering the car was under 100,000 km even though she was second owner and technically speaking Kia did not have to help her out at all ;then she should visit her Kia Dealership and see what they’ve got to say. Here is where my professional advice kicked in and the result was a $15,000 repair the rear differential on her car (that incidentally, might be lucky to be worth $30,000 )fully covered under Goodwill Dealer warranty. There was absolutely nothing in this advice for me however I feel quite proud that I was able to help the customer X out. Sadly thanks for the professional advice was like getting blood out of a stone.Reluctantly forthcoming www.topchoicemechanical.com.au See more

08.01.2022 Oops,Who topped the oil up for one of our regularsLuckily our Service reminder letter prompted this customer to come in for her service due by time. She is an elderly customer and probably had a do-gooder friend trying to help her out. Nothing wrong with that ,except that they left the bottle sitting on the exhaust manifold ready to catch fire!!!Fortunately she did not finish up with the Fire Brigade callout when driving. Please call in for your oil level to be checked rather than do it for yourself

05.01.2022 We wish all our Customers and followers a Safe and Happy Easter, please drive carefully and get your car checked if you notice any problems or noises.
