Our Bistro is open Wed - Saturday, Lunch and Dinner Being a busy venue has its difficulties - we are strictly adhering to the venue restrictions and even though this caused some people to get upset last week and be rude to our staff as we had lock our venue down as we were at capacity we don’t apologise for this! As of this afternoon we will now see our venue capacity increase to 80 - with the 4m2 ruling this allows for 43 in our bistro and 33 in our Public Bar so this will make it easier for our customers and staff to manage. We will continue to do takeaways - we know how much this service has meant to the community and its important for those that arent able/ready to get out and about just yet. 24.01.2022 Gray’s are almost back in full swing. Main Bar, Keno and Tab. will open on Friday at 11am, Gaming will open at 12pm Happy hours will recommence this week also, ... 20.01.2022 To all our valued loyal patrons and followers. The announcement of the reopening of Pubs within Tasmania at 3pm on Friday 5th June, is a great step forward to easing us all back to some sort of normal. Whilst it is great news for patrons and publicans alike, the current process of getting a frothy at the pub isn't as simple as it was before. To be able to open we need your compliance, this is not a time for complacency. These rules are essential to enable us to ensure the h...ealth & safety of our staff and customers. Bar Restrictions will include: Everyone must be seated at a table - tables and chairs are in their allocated spots and are not to be moved, our tables are spaced at 1.5m apart. You may approach the bar if and when there is a designated serving spot available, and once you have been served, you must return to your seat. All other areas of the Pub remain closed, including the front deck - The Bistro remains open for dining however there will be no passage between the 2 areas. Please understand we are doing our very best to operate in these trying times - if you are unwell or not following the restrictions you will be asked to leave. The restriction of 40 patrons per venue is possibly our most difficult restriction to manage as our bistro is often at capacity under the current restrictions. As a result we will be offering modified Bar hours for the interim period until we are able to ensure both areas are able to comply with the number of patrons per venue rule Our bar will open for a maximum of 33 patrons (based on current social distancing restrictions): Friday 5th June at 3pm - 6pm Saturday 6th June 11am - 6pm We have some pre-planned minor reno's occuring early next week so we will re opeon on Wednesday 10th June at 11am, with TOTE & Keno being in full operation. We remain committed to keeping up to date with any new information as it is being released regarding the easing of restrictions and accept the challenge of implementing them within our business, we have been through this from the start, remaining opening the whole way through. Our Bistro is open for dine in bookings for Lunch and Dinner Wednesday through to Saturday and we are still offering our great takeaway service on these days also, with free delivery for Dinner. 18.01.2022 Effective 12pm today new government restrictions have been lifted in regard to being able to stand and drink/socialise OUTDOORS Whilst this doesn’t really affect our venue as we have very limited outdoor social areas, as a result of this change we are now required to keep a register of ALL patrons onsite - regardless if they are inside or outside We have been doing this since May for our bistro so nothing will change for our bistro dinners ... All patrons entering the venue for gaming and public bar are required by the Tasmanian Government to sign in to our venue each day - if you part of an arranged gathering, only one person need sign in (you will then be the main contact person for all others in your party) We appreciate your assistance with this - our staff will be monitoring your compliance at the sign in registers throughout the venue - the information will be retained by Gray’s Hotel for a period of 28 days and only released to the government as part of the contact tracing process IF a confirmed case of COVID has attended our venue - the information won’t be used for any other purpose PLEASE be kind! We know that this will frustrate some people however this is an essential part of our family run business being able to operate - so compliance is essential and failure to comply will result in removal from the venue - and no one wants that! We still have our COVID safety plan in place, cleaning schedules, sanitizer, still observing the 2m2 rule per person with enough sanitiser to sink a ship! Thanks for your support Shaun & Kate

15.01.2022 Saturday 1st May is the Day people As of tomorrow all people entering our venue aged over 16 years and staying greater than 15 minutes will need to use the check in Tas ap We won’t be the first business asking you to do this and we certainly won’t be the last - effective tomorrow it will be mandated by the government that a check in process is used, which means fines can apply for anyone refusing to check in ... If you have a smart phone, please download the check in Tas ap from the ap store and then scan the code on display in our venue If you don’t have a phone capable of downloading the ap, staff will be able to assist with manual sign in If you are part of a group only one person needs to sign in and can then attach you to their phones during the check in process To ensure everyone is doing the right thing, please be prepared to show our staff your green tick to prove you have checked in when asked - don’t be a dick about it - we are doing our bit to ensure we keep our customers and employees safe and to stay in business - we ALL remember how hard isolating was !

10.01.2022 Well it’s 12 months to the day when we had to close our business at 12pm at the direction of the Australian government And what a 12 months it’s been ... To turn a fully functioning business into a takeaway business almost seemed ridiculous at the time - however where there is a will there is a way! We had dedicated staff that relied on an income and we had rent to pay - put that all together and it was always going to work! And so it began And we had no idea! But what you probably didn’t have an idea of was that ...... In the beginning our staff were terrified; the message was to stay at home unless you were an essential worker and how quickly we became essential The bond that our team built is something that will stay with us forever .... we quickly became family as we saw more of each other than we did our own families as everyone was isolating and not travelling We would finish each service with a socially distanced staff meeting where we would share the numbers of the total meals we did that night and staff would guess - the closest staff member would take home any tips that were given that night! It literally was the most exciting part of the shift During this debrief we would enjoy a ‘cordial’ after all shaun had many tapped kegs of ‘cordial’ that we weren’t able to sell with our bar closed - we would read all the feedback shared on social media; the good and the bad and implement changes based on the feedback you gave us - it was another highlight of our meeting! The feedback! although the ‘cordial’ was popular too Some nights we had 3 delivery drivers out taking 4 meals each to certain areas just to get through all our orders Then we could open for 10 diners in a sitting - seems so silly now but our bistro was super empty when it was used to seating 90+, then we went up to 20 and then 40 and then venue caps and area caps - no Vertical drinking, only sitting down, stand here, wipe this, sanitise this, sign this, don’t touch that! What a whirlwhind keeping up with all the restrictions To say it’s been hard it’s an understatement - it’s something no one other than a business owner will ever understand! There isn’t a dummy’s guide to running a business during a pandemic - but we stayed safe, kept our staff safe fed George Town and paid our rent, we made mistakes but we got it more right than wrong And we couldn’t have done that without our amazing staff, amazing family, amazing suppliers and of course our customers - many new and many loyal! 09.01.2022 W E A R E B A C K ! ! Well didnt that 3 days just fly by! Our Bar is open daily from 11am - closing time ideally will be 6pm, however this will be dependant on the Bistro Bookings.... TOTE is now operational, KENO may be on statewide by the weekend but we will keep you posted on this. Our Bistro is open Wed - Saturday, Lunch and Dinner We are now able to offer greater flexibility than the original restriction of 10 per booking. Being a busy venue has its difficulties - we are strictly adhering to the 40 per venue rule that is currently in place and that certainly does create its challenges but hey, we have been there from the beginning with a plan B and C and D so we are working together to be able to serve the entire community across both zones in our Pub and we love that you are patient and caring and supportive while we work out the new normal!
